- Exodus 26:1
וְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּן תַּעֲשֶׂה עֶשֶׂר יְרִיעֹת שֵׁשׁ מׇשְׁזָר וּתְכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתֹלַעַת שָׁנִי כְּרֻבִים מַעֲשֵׂה חֹשֵׁב תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתָם׃
As for the tabernacle, make it of ten strips of cloth; make these of fine twisted linen, of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, with a design of cherubim worked into them.
Targum Onkelos
וְיָת מַשְׁכְּנָא תַּעֲבֵיד עֲשַׂר יְרִיעָן דְּבוּץ שְׁזִיר וְתַכְלָא וְאַרְגְּוָנָא וּצְבַע זְהוֹרִי צוּרַת כְּרוּבִין עוֹבָד אוּמָּן תַּעֲבֵיד יָתְהוֹן׃
You shall [then] make the mishkon (Tabernacle) out of ten drapes, [consisting of] fine twined linen, greenish blue, dark red and crimson [colored] [wool]. Figures of cherubim, the work of a craftsman, shall be woven into them.
- Exodus 26:2
אֹרֶךְ ׀ הַיְרִיעָה הָאַחַת שְׁמֹנֶה וְעֶשְׂרִים בָּאַמָּה וְרֹחַב אַרְבַּע בָּאַמָּה הַיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת מִדָּה אַחַת לְכׇל־הַיְרִיעֹת׃
The length of each cloth shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each cloth shall be four cubits, all the cloths to have the same measurements.
Targum Onkelos
אוּרְכָּא דִּירִיעֲתָא חֲדָא עֶשְׂרִין וְתַמְנֵי אַמִּין וּפוּתְיָא אַרְבַּע אַמִּין דִּירִיעֲתָא חֲדָא מִשְׁחֲתָא חֲדָא לְכָל יְרִיעָתָא׃
Each drape shall be twenty eight amohs long, and each drape shall be four amohs wide. All the drapes shall have the same measure.
- Exodus 26:3
חֲמֵשׁ הַיְרִיעֹת תִּהְיֶיןָ חֹבְרֹת אִשָּׁה אֶל־אֲחֹתָהּ וְחָמֵשׁ יְרִיעֹת חֹבְרֹת אִשָּׁה אֶל־אֲחֹתָהּ׃
Five of the cloths shall be joined to one another, and the other five cloths shall be joined to one another.
Targum Onkelos
חֲמֵישׁ יְרִיעָן יִהְוְיָן מְלָפְפָן חֲדָא עִם חֲדָא וַחֲמֵישׁ יְרִיעָן מְלָפְפָן חֲדָא עִם חֲדָא׃
Five of these drapes shall be joined [sewn] together and [the other] five drapes shall be joined [sewn] together.
- Exodus 26:4
וְעָשִׂיתָ לֻלְאֹת תְּכֵלֶת עַל שְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת מִקָּצָה בַּחֹבָרֶת וְכֵן תַּעֲשֶׂה בִּשְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הַקִּיצוֹנָה בַּמַּחְבֶּרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית׃
Make loops of blue wool on the edge of the outermost cloth of the one set; and do likewise on the edge of the outermost cloth of the other set:
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד עֲנוּבִּין דְּתַכְלָא עַל סִפְתָּא דִּירִיעֲתָא חֲדָא מִסִּטְרָא בֵּית לוֹפֵי וְכֵן תַּעֲבֵיד בְּסִפְתָּא דִּירִיעֲתָא בְּסִטְרָא בֵּית לוֹפֵי תִּנְיָנָא׃
Make loops of greenish blue [wool] on the edge of the drape which is at the [innermost] end of the [first] group. Do the same on the edge of the drape which is at the [innermost] end of the second group.
- Exodus 26:5
חֲמִשִּׁים לֻלָאֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה בַּיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת וַחֲמִשִּׁים לֻלָאֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה בִּקְצֵה הַיְרִיעָה אֲשֶׁר בַּמַּחְבֶּרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית מַקְבִּילֹת הַלֻּלָאֹת אִשָּׁה אֶל־אֲחֹתָהּ׃
make fifty loops on the one cloth, and fifty loops on the edge of the end cloth of the other set, the loops to be opposite one another.
Targum Onkelos
חַמְשִׁין עֲנוּבִּין תַּעֲבֵיד בִּירִיעֲתָא חֲדָא וְחַמְשִׁין עֲנוּבִּין תַּעֲבֵיד בְּסִטְרָא דִּירִיעֲתָא דְּבֵית לוֹפֵי תִּנְיָנָא מַכְוְנָן עֲנוּבַּיָּא חֲדָא לָקֳבֵיל חֲדָא׃
Make fifty loops on [the edge of] one drape, and make fifty loops on the edge of the drape which is on the second group. The loops shall be opposite one another.
- Exodus 26:6
וְעָשִׂיתָ חֲמִשִּׁים קַרְסֵי זָהָב וְחִבַּרְתָּ אֶת־הַיְרִיעֹת אִשָּׁה אֶל־אֲחֹתָהּ בַּקְּרָסִים וְהָיָה הַמִּשְׁכָּן אֶחָד׃
And make fifty gold clasps, and couple the cloths to one another with the clasps, so that the tabernacle becomes one whole.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד חַמְשִׁין פּוּרְפִין דִּדְהַב וּתְלָפֵיף יָת יְרִיעָתָא חֲדָא עִם חֲדָא בְּפוּרְפַיָּא וִיהֵי מַשְׁכְּנָא חַד׃
Make fifty golden clasps, and join the drapes [of each group] together with the clasps, so that the mishkon is one.
- Exodus 26:7
וְעָשִׂיתָ יְרִיעֹת עִזִּים לְאֹהֶל עַל־הַמִּשְׁכָּן עַשְׁתֵּי־עֶשְׂרֵה יְרִיעֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתָם׃
You shall then make cloths of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; make the cloths eleven in number.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד יְרִיעָן דְּמַעְזֵי לְפָרָסָא עַל מַשְׁכְּנָא חֲדָא עֶשְׂרֵי יְרִיעָן תַּעֲבֵיד יָתְהוֹן׃
Make drapes of goats hair for a covering over the mishkon. Make eleven drapes.
- Exodus 26:8
אֹרֶךְ ׀ הַיְרִיעָה הָאַחַת שְׁלֹשִׁים בָּאַמָּה וְרֹחַב אַרְבַּע בָּאַמָּה הַיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת מִדָּה אַחַת לְעַשְׁתֵּי עֶשְׂרֵה יְרִיעֹת׃
The length of each cloth shall be thirty cubits, and the width of each cloth shall be four cubits, the eleven cloths to have the same measurements.
Targum Onkelos
אוּרְכָּא דִּירִיעֲתָא חֲדָא תְּלָתִין אַמִּין וּפוּתְיָא אַרְבַּע אַמִּין דִּירִיעֲתָא חֲדָא מִשְׁחֲתָא חֲדָא לַחֲדָא עֶשְׂרֵי יְרִיעָן׃
The length of each drape shall be thirty amohs, and the width of each drape shall be four amohs. The eleven drapes must have the same measure.
- Exodus 26:9
וְחִבַּרְתָּ אֶת־חֲמֵשׁ הַיְרִיעֹת לְבָד וְאֶת־שֵׁשׁ הַיְרִיעֹת לְבָד וְכָפַלְתָּ אֶת־הַיְרִיעָה הַשִּׁשִּׁית אֶל־מוּל פְּנֵי הָאֹהֶל׃
Join five of the cloths by themselves, and the other six cloths by themselves; and fold over the sixth cloth at the front of the tent.
Targum Onkelos
וּתְלָפֵיף יָת חֲמֵישׁ יְרִיעָן לְחוֹד וְיָת שֵׁית יְרִיעָן לְחוֹד וְתֵיעוֹף יָת יְרִיעֲתָא שְׁתִיתֵיתָא לָקֳבֵיל אַפֵּי מַשְׁכְּנָא׃
Join [sew] together five drapes by themselves, and [the other] six drapes by themselves. Let the sixth drape overhang before the entrance of the tent [mishkon].
- Exodus 26:10
וְעָשִׂיתָ חֲמִשִּׁים לֻלָאֹת עַל שְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת הַקִּיצֹנָה בַּחֹבָרֶת וַחֲמִשִּׁים לֻלָאֹת עַל שְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הַחֹבֶרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית׃
Make fifty loops on the edge of the outermost cloth of the one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the cloth of the other set.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד חַמְשִׁין עֲנוּבִּין עַל סִפְתָּא דִּירִיעֲתָא חֲדָא בְּסִטְרָא בֵּית לוֹפֵי וְחַמְשִׁין עֲנוּבִּין עַל סִפְתָּא דִּירִיעֲתָא דְּבֵית לוֹפֵי תִּנְיָנָא׃
Make fifty loops on the edge of one drape which is at the [innermost] end of the [first] group, and fifty loops on the edge of the drape which is on the second group.
- Exodus 26:11
וְעָשִׂיתָ קַרְסֵי נְחֹשֶׁת חֲמִשִּׁים וְהֵבֵאתָ אֶת־הַקְּרָסִים בַּלֻּלָאֹת וְחִבַּרְתָּ אֶת־הָאֹהֶל וְהָיָה אֶחָד׃
Make fifty copper clasps, and fit the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together so that it becomes one whole.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד פּוּרְפִין דִּנְחָשׁ חַמְשִׁין וְתַעֵיל יָת פּוּרְפַיָּא בַּעֲנוּבַּיָּא וּתְלָפֵיף יָת מַשְׁכְּנָא וִיהֵי חַד׃
Make fifty copper clasps. Bring the clasps into the loops, and join the tent together, making it one.
- Exodus 26:12
וְסֶרַח הָעֹדֵף בִּירִיעֹת הָאֹהֶל חֲצִי הַיְרִיעָה הָעֹדֶפֶת תִּסְרַח עַל אֲחֹרֵי הַמִּשְׁכָּן׃
As for the overlapping excess of the cloths of the tent, the extra half-cloth shall overlap the back of the tabernacle,
Targum Onkelos
וְסֻרְחָא דְּיַתִּיר בִּירִיעָת מַשְׁכְּנָא פַּלְגוּת יְרִיעֲתָא דְּיָתְרָא תִּסְרַח עַל אֲחוֹרֵי מַשְׁכְּנָא׃
The overlapping excess [from what is left over] [in the breadth] of the drapes of the tent—half of the extra drape shall overlap the back of the mishkon.
- Exodus 26:13
וְהָאַמָּה מִזֶּה וְהָאַמָּה מִזֶּה בָּעֹדֵף בְּאֹרֶךְ יְרִיעֹת הָאֹהֶל יִהְיֶה סָרוּחַ עַל־צִדֵּי הַמִּשְׁכָּן מִזֶּה וּמִזֶּה לְכַסֹּתוֹ׃
while the extra cubit at either end of each length of tent cloth shall hang down to the bottom of the two sides of the tabernacle and cover it.
Targum Onkelos
וְאַמְּתָא מִכָּא וְאַמְּתָא מִכָּא בִּדְיַתִּיר בְּאֹרֶךְ יְרִיעָת מַשְׁכְּנָא יְהֵי סְרִיחַ עַל סִטְרֵי מַשְׁכְּנָא מִכָּא וּמִכָּא לְכַסָּיוּתֵיהּ׃
The [extra] amoh on one side, and the [extra] amoh on the other side that were in excess of the length of the drapes of the tent shall overlap the sides of the mishkon, on both sides, to cover it.
- Exodus 26:14
וְעָשִׂיתָ מִכְסֶה לָאֹהֶל עֹרֹת אֵילִם מְאׇדָּמִים וּמִכְסֵה עֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים מִלְמָעְלָה׃
And make for the tent a covering of tanned ram skins, and a covering of dolphin skins above.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד חוּפָאָה לְמַשְׁכְּנָא דְּמַשְׁכֵּי דִּכְרֵי מְסוּמְּקֵי וְחוּפָאָה דְּמַשְׁכֵּי סָסְגוֹנָא מִלְּעֵילָא׃
Make a covering for the tent out of red dyed ram’s skins, and a covering of tachash [multicolored] skins above that.
