- Deuteronomy 33:13
וּלְיוֹסֵף אָמַר מְבֹרֶכֶת יְהֹוָה אַרְצוֹ מִמֶּגֶד שָׁמַיִם מִטָּל וּמִתְּהוֹם רֹבֶצֶת תָּחַת׃
And of Joseph he said: Blessed of GOD be his land With the bounty of dew from heaven, And of the deep that couches below;
Targum Onkelos
וּלְיוֹסֵף אֲמַר מְבָרְכָא מִן קֳדָם יְיָ אַרְעֵיהּ עָבְדָא מַגְדָּנִין מִטַּלָּא דִּשְׁמַיָּא מִלְּעֵילָא וּמִמַּבּוּעֵי עֵינָוָון וּתְהוֹמִין דְּנָגְדִין מִמַּעֲמַקֵּי אַרְעָא מִלְּרַע׃
And regarding Yoseif he said, ‘‘Blessed by [before] Adonoy is his land; with the [producing the] delight of heaven, from dew, and the [wellsprings and] deep waters that lie [flow from the depths of the earth] below.
- Deuteronomy 33:14
וּמִמֶּגֶד תְּבוּאֹת שָׁמֶשׁ וּמִמֶּגֶד גֶּרֶשׁ יְרָחִים׃
With the bounteous yield of the sun, And the bounteous crop of the moons;
Targum Onkelos
עָבְדָא מַגְדָּנִין וְעַלְלָן מִיְּבוּל שִׁמְשָׁא עָבְדָא מַגְדָּנִין מֵרֵישׁ יְרַח בִּירַח׃
With [it produces] the delight[s] of the sun’s harvest; and with the delight of the moon’s ripening [from month to month].
- Deuteronomy 33:15
וּמֵרֹאשׁ הַרְרֵי־קֶדֶם וּמִמֶּגֶד גִּבְעוֹת עוֹלָם׃
With the best from the ancient mountains, And the bounty of hills immemorial;
Targum Onkelos
וּמֵרֵישׁ טוּרַיָּא בַּכִּירַיָּא וּמִטּוּב רָמָן דְּלָא פָסְקָן׃
With the first fruits of the early mountains [tops] and from the sweetness of the perennial hills.
- Deuteronomy 33:16
וּמִמֶּגֶד אֶרֶץ וּמְלֹאָהּ וּרְצוֹן שֹׁכְנִי סְנֶה תָּבוֹאתָה לְרֹאשׁ יוֹסֵף וּלְקׇדְקֹד נְזִיר אֶחָיו׃
With the bounty of earth and its fullness, And the favor of the Presence in the Bush. May these rest on the head of Joseph, On the crown of the elect of his brothers.
Targum Onkelos
וּמִטּוּב אַרְעָא וּמְלָאַהּ רְעֵי לֵיהּ דִּשְׁכִינְתֵיהּ בִּשְׁמַיָּא וְעַל מֹשֶׁה אִתְגְּלִי בַּאֲסַנָּא יֵיתְיָן כָּל אִלֵּין לְרֵישָׁא דְּיוֹסֵף גּוּבְרָא פְרִישָׁא דַּאֲחוֹהִי׃
And from the sweetness [best] of earth and its fullness, and the favor of the One [Shechinah] who resides in [heavens and appeared to Moshe in] the thornbush; let [all of] this be visited upon Yoseif’s head, and upon the head of the one [man] set apart from his brothers.
- Deuteronomy 33:17
בְּכוֹר שׁוֹרוֹ הָדָר לוֹ וְקַרְנֵי רְאֵם קַרְנָיו בָּהֶם עַמִּים יְנַגַּח יַחְדָּו אַפְסֵי־אָרֶץ וְהֵם רִבְבוֹת אֶפְרַיִם וְהֵם אַלְפֵי מְנַשֶּׁה׃
Like a firstling bull in his majesty, He has horns like the horns of the wild-ox; With them he gores the peoples, The ends of the earth one and all. These are the myriads of Ephraim, Those are the thousands of Manasseh.
Targum Onkelos
רַבָּא דִּבְנוֹהִי זִיוָא לֵיהּ וּגְבוּרָן אִתְעֲבִידָא לֵיהּ מִן קֳדָם דְּתוּקְפָא וְרוּמָא דִּילֵיהּ בִּגְבוּרְתֵיהּ עַמְמַיָּא יְקַטֵּיל כַּחְדָּא עַד סְיָפֵי אַרְעָא וְאִנּוּן רִבְּוָתָא דְּבֵית אֶפְרַיִם וְאִנּוּן אַלְפַיָּא דְּבֵית מְנַשֶּׁה׃
His firstborn ox, glory to him, and re’em’s horns are his horns, with which he will gore together peoples to the ends of the earth; and they are Ephraim’s myriads, and they are Menasheh’s thousands.’’ [The greatness of his children will be his beauty, and the mighty things [miracles] done for him from before the Almighty and Most High, with his might he will slay nations as one to the ends of the earth. They are the myriads of the house of Ephraim and they are the thousands of the house of Menasheh.]
