- Exodus 28:31
וְעָשִׂיתָ אֶת־מְעִיל הָאֵפוֹד כְּלִיל תְּכֵלֶת׃
You shall make the robe of the ephod of pure blue.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד יָת מְעִיל אֵיפוֹדָא גְּמִיר תַּכְלָא׃
Make the robe of the eiphod completely out of greenish-blue wool.
- Exodus 28:32
וְהָיָה פִי־רֹאשׁוֹ בְּתוֹכוֹ שָׂפָה יִהְיֶה לְפִיו סָבִיב מַעֲשֵׂה אֹרֵג כְּפִי תַחְרָא יִהְיֶה־לּוֹ לֹא יִקָּרֵעַ׃
The opening for the head shall be in the middle of it; the opening shall have a binding of woven work round about—it shall be like the opening of a coat of mail—so that it does not tear.
Targum Onkelos
וִיהֵי פוּמֵּיהּ כְּפִיל לְגַוֵּיהּ תּוּרָא יְהֵי מַקַּף לְפוּמֵּיהּ סְחוֹר סְחוֹר עוֹבָד מָחֵי כְּפוֹם שִׁרְיָן יְהֵי לֵיהּ דְּלָא יִתְבְּזַע׃
Its opening at the top shall be turned inward. Its opening shall have a border [encircling] all around, [this border shall be] of woven work, like there is around the opening of a coat of armor, so that it will not be torn.

וְעָשִׂיתָ עַל־שׁוּלָיו רִמֹּנֵי תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי עַל־שׁוּלָיו סָבִיב וּפַעֲמֹנֵי זָהָב בְּתוֹכָם סָבִיב׃
On its hem make pomegranates of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, all around the hem, with bells of gold between them all around:
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד עַל שִׁפּוֹלוֹהִי רִמּוֹנֵי תַּכְלָא וְאַרְגְּוָנָא וּצְבַע זְהוֹרִי עַל שִׁפּוֹלוֹהִי סְחוֹר סְחוֹר וְזַגִּין דִּדְהַב בֵּינֵיהוֹן סְחוֹר סְחוֹר׃
On its [lower] hem you shall make pomegranates of greenish-blue wool, dark red wool, and crimson [colored] wool—around its [lower] hem. There shall be gold bells between them, all around.

פַּעֲמֹן זָהָב וְרִמּוֹן פַּעֲמֹן זָהָב וְרִמּוֹן עַל־שׁוּלֵי הַמְּעִיל סָבִיב׃
a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe.
Targum Onkelos
זַגָּא דְּדַהְבָּא וְרִמּוֹנָא זַגָּא דְּדַהְבָּא וְרִמּוֹנָא עַל שִׁפּוֹלֵי מְעִילָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר׃
A gold bell and a pomegranate, a gold bell and a pomegranate, on the [lower] hem of the robe all around.

וְהָיָה עַל־אַהֲרֹן לְשָׁרֵת וְנִשְׁמַע קוֹלוֹ בְּבֹאוֹ אֶל־הַקֹּדֶשׁ לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה וּבְצֵאתוֹ וְלֹא יָמוּת׃
Aaron shall wear it while officiating, so that the sound of it is heard when he comes into the sanctuary before GOD and when he goes out—that he may not die.
Targum Onkelos
וִיהֵי עַל אַהֲרֹן לְשַׁמָּשָׁא וְיִשְׁתְּמַע קָלֵיהּ בְּמֵיעֲלֵיהּ לְקוּדְשָׁא לִקְדָם יְיָ וּבְמִפְּקֵיהּ וְלָא יְמוּת׃
It shall be on Aharon when he performs [Divine] service. Its sound shall be heard when he comes into the Holy [sanctuary] in the presence of Adonoy, and when he comes out, so that he will not die.
- Exodus 28:36
וְעָשִׂיתָ צִּיץ זָהָב טָהוֹר וּפִתַּחְתָּ עָלָיו פִּתּוּחֵי חֹתָם קֹדֶשׁ לַיהֹוָה׃
You shall make a frontlet of pure gold and engrave on it the seal inscription: “Holy to GOD.”
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד צִיצָא דִּדְהַב דְּכֵי וְתִגְלוֹף עֲלוֹהִי כְּתָב מְפָרַשׁ קֹדֶשׁ לַייָ׃
You shall make a diadem of pure gold, and engrave on it in the manner of a signet [ring] [script that is clear], “Holy unto Adonoy.”
- Exodus 28:37
וְשַׂמְתָּ אֹתוֹ עַל־פְּתִיל תְּכֵלֶת וְהָיָה עַל־הַמִּצְנָפֶת אֶל־מוּל פְּנֵי־הַמִּצְנֶפֶת יִהְיֶה׃
Suspend it on a cord of blue, so that it may remain on the headdress; it shall remain on the front of the headdress.
Targum Onkelos
וּתְשַׁוֵּי יָתֵיהּ עַל חוּטָא דִּתְכִילְתָא וִיהֵי עַל מַצְנַפְתָּא לָקֳבֵיל אַפֵּי מַצְנַפְתָּא יְהֵי׃
Set [fasten] it on a greenish-blue wool cord, so that it will be on the turban. It shall be near the front of the turban.
- Exodus 28:38
וְהָיָה עַל־מֵצַח אַהֲרֹן וְנָשָׂא אַהֲרֹן אֶת־עֲוֺן הַקֳּדָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר יַקְדִּישׁוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְכׇל־מַתְּנֹת קׇדְשֵׁיהֶם וְהָיָה עַל־מִצְחוֹ תָּמִיד לְרָצוֹן לָהֶם לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה׃
It shall be on Aaron’s forehead, that Aaron may take away any sin arising from the holy things that the Israelites consecrate, from any of their sacred donations; it shall be on his forehead at all times, to win acceptance for them before GOD.
Targum Onkelos
וִיהֵי עַל בֵּית עֵינוֹהִי דְּאַהֲרֹן וְיִטּוֹל אַהֲרֹן יָת עֲוָיָת קוּדְשַׁיָּא דְּיַקְדְּשׁוּן בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְכָל מַתְּנָת קוּדְשֵׁיהוֹן וִיהֵי עַל בֵּית עֵינוֹהִי תְּדִירָא לְרַעֲוָא לְהוֹן קֳדָם יְיָ׃
It shall be [worn] on Aharon’s forehead, and Aharon will carry [atone] the iniquity of the sacred offerings that the B’nei Yisrael consecrate for all their sacred gifts. It shall be on his forehead always to make them [the sacred-offerings] acceptable before Adonoy.
- Exodus 28:39
וְשִׁבַּצְתָּ הַכְּתֹנֶת שֵׁשׁ וְעָשִׂיתָ מִצְנֶפֶת שֵׁשׁ וְאַבְנֵט תַּעֲשֶׂה מַעֲשֵׂה רֹקֵם׃
You shall make the fringed tunic of fine linen. You shall make the headdress of fine linen. You shall make the sash of embroidered work.
Targum Onkelos
וּתְרַמֵּיץ כִּתּוּנָא דְּבוּצָא וְתַעֲבֵיד מַצְנַפְתָּא דְּבוּצָא וְהִמְיָן תַּעֲבֵיד עוֹבָד צַיָּיר׃
Make the undershirt with checkered work of fine linen. Make the turban of fine linen. and the sash-belt shall be the work of an embroiderer.
- Exodus 28:40
וְלִבְנֵי אַהֲרֹן תַּעֲשֶׂה כֻתֳּנֹת וְעָשִׂיתָ לָהֶם אַבְנֵטִים וּמִגְבָּעוֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה לָהֶם לְכָבוֹד וּלְתִפְאָרֶת׃
And for Aaron’s sons also you shall make tunics, and make sashes for them, and make turbans for them, for dignity and adornment.
Targum Onkelos
וְלִבְנֵי אַהֲרֹן תַּעֲבֵיד כִּתּוּנִין וְתַעֲבֵיד לְהוֹן הִמְיָנִין וְקוֹבְעִין תַּעֲבֵיד לְהוֹן לִיקָר וּלְתוּשְׁבְּחָא׃
For Aharon’s sons, make undershirts, and [also] make sash-belts for them. Make turban-like hats for them, for honor and splendor.
- Exodus 28:41
וְהִלְבַּשְׁתָּ אֹתָם אֶת־אַהֲרֹן אָחִיךָ וְאֶת־בָּנָיו אִתּוֹ וּמָשַׁחְתָּ אֹתָם וּמִלֵּאתָ אֶת־יָדָם וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ אֹתָם וְכִהֲנוּ לִי׃
Put these on your brother Aaron and on his sons as well; anoint them, and ordain them and consecrate them to serve Me as priests.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַלְבֵּישׁ יָתְהוֹן יָת אַהֲרֹן אֲחוּךְ וְיָת בְּנוֹהִי עִמֵּיהּ וּתְרַבֵּי יָתְהוֹן וּתְקָרֵיב יָת קוּרְבָּנְהוֹן וּתְקַדֵּישׁ יָתְהוֹן וִישַׁמְּשׁוּן קֳדָמָי׃
Clothe your brother, Aharon, with [these garments], and also [clothe] his sons along with him. [Then] anoint them, and install them [offer their sacrifices], and consecrate them to serve [before] Me [as kohanim].
- Exodus 28:42
וַעֲשֵׂה לָהֶם מִכְנְסֵי־בָד לְכַסּוֹת בְּשַׂר עֶרְוָה מִמׇּתְנַיִם וְעַד־יְרֵכַיִם יִהְיוּ׃
You shall also make for them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; they shall extend from the hips to the thighs.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבֵיד לְהוֹן מִכְנְסִין דְּבוּץ לְכַסָּאָה בְּשַׂר עֶרְיָא מֵחַרְצִין וְעַד יִרְכָן יְהוֹן׃
Make for them linen pants to cover their nakedness, reaching from their waists to their thighs.
- Exodus 28:43
וְהָיוּ עַל־אַהֲרֹן וְעַל־בָּנָיו בְּבֹאָם ׀ אֶל־אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד אוֹ בְגִשְׁתָּם אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ לְשָׁרֵת בַּקֹּדֶשׁ וְלֹא־יִשְׂאוּ עָוֺן וָמֵתוּ חֻקַּת עוֹלָם לוֹ וּלְזַרְעוֹ אַחֲרָיו׃
They shall be worn by Aaron and his sons when they enter the Tent of Meeting or when they approach the altar to officiate in the sanctuary, so that they do not incur punishment and die. It shall be a law for all time for him and for his offspring to come.
Targum Onkelos
וִיהוֹן עַל אַהֲרֹן וְעַל בְּנוֹהִי בְּמֵיעַלְהוֹן לְמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא אוֹ בְמִקְרַבְהוֹן לְמַדְבְּחָא לְשַׁמָּשָׁא בְּקוּדְשָׁא וְלָא יְקַבְּלוּן חוֹבָא וְלָא יְמוּתוּן קְיָם עָלַם לֵיהּ וְלִבְנוֹהִי בָּתְרוֹהִי׃
These [garments] must be worn by Aharon and his sons whenever they come into Tent of Meeting, or approach the altar to serve in the Holy [sanctuary], in order that they not bear iniquity and die. This is an everlasting statute for him and his descendants after him.
