- Exodus 25:1
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃
GOD spoke to Moses, saying:
Targum Onkelos
וּמַלֵּיל יְיָ עִם מֹשֶׁה לְמֵימַר׃
Adonoy spoke to Moshe saying,
- Exodus 25:2
דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיִקְחוּ־לִי תְּרוּמָה מֵאֵת כׇּל־אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִדְּבֶנּוּ לִבּוֹ תִּקְחוּ אֶת־תְּרוּמָתִי׃
Tell the Israelite people to bring Me gifts; you shall accept gifts for Me from every person whose heart is so moved.
Targum Onkelos
מַלֵּיל עִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיַפְרְשׁוּן קֳדָמַי אַפְרָשׁוּתָא מִן כָּל גְּבַר דְּיִתְרְעֵי לִבֵּיהּ תִּסְּבוּן יָת אַפְרָשׁוּתִי׃
Speak to the B’nei Yisrael and have them take for [separate before] Me a terumah-offering. From every man whose heart impels him to generosity shall you take My terumah-offering.
- Exodus 25:3
וְזֹאת הַתְּרוּמָה אֲשֶׁר תִּקְחוּ מֵאִתָּם זָהָב וָכֶסֶף וּנְחֹשֶׁת׃
And these are the gifts that you shall accept from them: gold, silver, and copper;
Targum Onkelos
וְדָא אַפְרָשׁוּתָא דְּתִסְּבוּן מִנְּהוֹן דַּהְבָּא וְכַסְפָּא וּנְחָשָׁא׃
This is the terumah-offering that you shall take from them: gold, silver and copper.
- Exodus 25:4
וּתְכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי וְשֵׁשׁ וְעִזִּים׃
blue, purple, and crimson yarns, fine linen, goats’ hair;
Targum Onkelos
וְתַכְלָא וְאַרְגְּוָנָא וּצְבַע זְהוֹרִי וּבוּץ וּמַעְזֵי׃
Greenish-blue [wool], dark red [wool], crimson [colored] [wool], fine linen, and goats [hair].
- Exodus 25:5
וְעֹרֹת אֵילִם מְאׇדָּמִים וְעֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים וַעֲצֵי שִׁטִּים׃
tanned ram skins, dolphin skins, and acacia wood;
Targum Onkelos
וּמַשְׁכֵּי דְּדִכְרֵי מְסוּמְּקֵי וּמַשְׁכֵּי סָסְגוֹנָא וְאָעֵי שִׁטִּין׃
Red[-dyed] ram’s skins, tachash [multicolored] skins, and acacia wood.
- Exodus 25:6
שֶׁמֶן לַמָּאֹר בְּשָׂמִים לְשֶׁמֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה וְלִקְטֹרֶת הַסַּמִּים׃
oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the aromatic incense;
Targum Onkelos
מִשְׁחָא לְאַנְהָרוּתָא בּוּסְמַיָּא לִמְשַׁח רְבוּתָא וְלִקְטֹרֶת בּוּסְמַיָּא׃
Oil for the lamp. Spices for anointing-oil, and for the incense of aromatic spices.
- Exodus 25:7
אַבְנֵי־שֹׁהַם וְאַבְנֵי מִלֻּאִים לָאֵפֹד וְלַחֹשֶׁן׃
lapis lazuli and other stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
Targum Onkelos
אַבְנֵי בוּרְלָא וְאַבְנֵי אַשְׁלָמוּתָא לְשַׁקָּעָא בְּאֵיפוֹדָא וּבְחוּשְׁנָא׃
Onyx stones, and filling stones [for setting] [into] the eiphod and breastplate.
- Exodus 25:8
וְעָשׂוּ לִי מִקְדָּשׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְּתוֹכָם׃
And let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them.
Targum Onkelos
וְיַעְבְּדוּן קֳדָמַי מַקְדַּשׁ וְאַשְׁרֵי שְׁכִינְתִי בֵּינֵיהוֹן׃
They shall make a Sanctuary for [before] Me, and I will [then] dwell in their midst [rest My Shechina among them].
- Exodus 25:9
כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי מַרְאֶה אוֹתְךָ אֵת תַּבְנִית הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְאֵת תַּבְנִית כׇּל־כֵּלָיו וְכֵן תַּעֲשׂוּ׃
Exactly as I show you—the pattern of the Tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings—so shall you make it.
Targum Onkelos
כְּכֹל דַּאֲנָא מַחְזֵי יָתָךְ יָת דְּמוּת מַשְׁכְּנָא וְיָת דְּמוּת כָּל מָנוֹהִי וְכֵן תַּעְבְּדוּן׃
According to all that I am showing you—the form of the mishkon [tabernacle] and the form of all its vessels—and so should you make [it].
- Exodus 25:10
וְעָשׂוּ אֲרוֹן עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים אַמָּתַיִם וָחֵצִי אׇרְכּוֹ וְאַמָּה וָחֵצִי רׇחְבּוֹ וְאַמָּה וָחֵצִי קֹמָתוֹ׃
They shall make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.
Targum Onkelos
וְיַעְבְּדוּן אֲרוֹנָא דְּאָעֵי שִׁטִּין תַּרְתֵּין אַמִּין וּפַלְגָּא אוּרְכֵּיהּ וְאַמְּתָא וּפַלְגָּא פוּתְיֵיהּ וְאַמְּתָא וּפַלְגָּא רוּמֵיהּ׃
They shall make an ark of acacia wood, two and one-half amohs long, one and one-half amohs wide, and one and one-half amohs high.
- Exodus 25:11
וְצִפִּיתָ אֹתוֹ זָהָב טָהוֹר מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ תְּצַפֶּנּוּ וְעָשִׂיתָ עָלָיו זֵר זָהָב סָבִיב׃
Overlay it with pure gold—overlay it inside and out—and make upon it a gold molding round about.
Targum Onkelos
וְתִחְפֵי יָתֵיהּ דְּהַב דְּכֵי מִגָּיו וּמִבַּרָא תִּחְפֵינֵיהּ וְתַעֲבֵיד עֲלוֹהִי זִיר דִּדְהַב סְחוֹר סְחוֹר׃
Cover it with pure gold—you shall cover it inside and out. Make for it a golden crown-like rim around [its top].
- Exodus 25:12
וְיָצַקְתָּ לּוֹ אַרְבַּע טַבְּעֹת זָהָב וְנָתַתָּה עַל אַרְבַּע פַּעֲמֹתָיו וּשְׁתֵּי טַבָּעֹת עַל־צַלְעוֹ הָאֶחָת וּשְׁתֵּי טַבָּעֹת עַל־צַלְעוֹ הַשֵּׁנִית׃
Cast four gold rings for it, to be attached to its four feet, two rings on one of its side walls and two on the other.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַתֵּיךְ לֵיהּ אַרְבַּע עִזְקָן דִּדְהַב וְתִתֵּין עַל אַרְבַּע זָוְיָתֵיהּ וְתַרְתֵּין עִזְקָן עַל סִטְרֵיהּ חַד וְתַרְתֵּין עִזְקָן עַל סִטְרֵיהּ תִּנְיָנָא׃
Cast four gold rings, and place them on its [the ark’s] four corners, two rings on one side, and two rings on the second side.
- Exodus 25:13
וְעָשִׂיתָ בַדֵּי עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים וְצִפִּיתָ אֹתָם זָהָב׃
Make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold;
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד אֲרִיחֵי דְּאָעֵי שִׁטִּין וְתִחְפֵי יָתְהוֹן דַּהְבָּא׃
Make [two] poles of acacia wood, and cover them with gold.
- Exodus 25:14
וְהֵבֵאתָ אֶת־הַבַּדִּים בַּטַּבָּעֹת עַל צַלְעֹת הָאָרֹן לָשֵׂאת אֶת־הָאָרֹן בָּהֶם׃
then insert the poles into the rings on the side walls of the ark, for carrying the ark.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֵיל יָת אֲרִיחַיָּא בְּעִזְקָתָא עַל סִטְרֵי אֲרוֹנָא לְמִטַּל יָת אֲרוֹנָא בְּהוֹן׃
Place the poles in the rings on the sides of the ark, so that the ark can be carried with them.
- Exodus 25:15
בְּטַבְּעֹת הָאָרֹן יִהְיוּ הַבַּדִּים לֹא יָסֻרוּ מִמֶּנּוּ׃
The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark: they shall not be removed from it.
Targum Onkelos
בְּעִזְקָת אֲרוֹנָא יְהוֹן אֲרִיחַיָּא לָא יִעְדּוֹן מִנֵּיהּ׃
In the rings of the ark, must the poles remain. They must not be removed from them.
- Exodus 25:16
וְנָתַתָּ אֶל־הָאָרֹן אֵת הָעֵדֻת אֲשֶׁר אֶתֵּן אֵלֶיךָ׃
And deposit in the Ark [the tablets of] the Pact that I will give you.
Targum Onkelos
וְתִתֵּין בַּאֲרוֹנָא יָת סָהֲדוּתָא דְּאֶתֵּין לָךְ׃
You shall then place in the ark, the Testimony that I will give you.
