- Leviticus 11:33
וְכׇל־כְּלִי־חֶרֶשׂ אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל מֵהֶם אֶל־תּוֹכוֹ כֹּל אֲשֶׁר בְּתוֹכוֹ יִטְמָא וְאֹתוֹ תִשְׁבֹּרוּ׃
And if any of those falls into an earthen vessel, everything inside it shall be impure and [the vessel] itself you shall break.
Targum Onkelos
וְכָל מָאן דַּחֲסַף דְּיִפּוֹל מִנְּהוֹן לְגַוֵּיהּ כֹּל דִּבְגַוֵּיהּ יִסְתָּאַב וְיָתֵיהּ תִּתְבְּרוּן׃
Every earthen vessel into which a part of them may fall, everything that is within it becomes unclean, and you shall break it.

מִכׇּל־הָאֹכֶל אֲשֶׁר יֵאָכֵל אֲשֶׁר יָבוֹא עָלָיו מַיִם יִטְמָא וְכׇל־מַשְׁקֶה אֲשֶׁר יִשָּׁתֶה בְּכׇל־כְּלִי יִטְמָא׃
As to any food that may be eaten, it shall become impure if it came in contact with water; as to any liquid that may be drunk, it shall become impure if it was inside any vessel.
Targum Onkelos
מִכָּל מֵיכָל דְּמִתְאֲכִיל דְּיֵיעֲלוּן עֲלוֹהִי מַיָּא יְהֵי מְסָאַב וְכָל מַשְׁקְיָא דְּיִשְׁתְּתֵי בְּכָל מָאן יְהֵי מְסָאַב׃
Of all foods that are eaten upon which water comes, shall be unclean. Every beverage that is drunk, in any vessel, shall be impure.
- Leviticus 11:35
וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל מִנִּבְלָתָם ׀ עָלָיו יִטְמָא תַּנּוּר וְכִירַיִם יֻתָּץ טְמֵאִים הֵם וּטְמֵאִים יִהְיוּ לָכֶם׃
Everything on which the carcass of any of them falls shall be impure: an oven or stove shall be smashed. They are impure—and impure they shall remain for you.
Targum Onkelos
וְכֹל דְּיִפּוֹל מִנְּבִילַתְהוֹן עֲלוֹהִי יְהֵי מְסָאַב תַּנּוּר וְכִירַיִם יִתָּרְעוּן מְסָאֲבִין אִנּוּן וּמְסָאֲבִין יְהוֹן לְכוֹן׃
Everything upon which any part of their carcasses fall, shall be unclean [even] an oven and a hearth shall be shattered, they are unclean and they shall be unclean to you.
- Leviticus 11:36
אַךְ מַעְיָן וּבוֹר מִקְוֵה־מַיִם יִהְיֶה טָהוֹר וְנֹגֵעַ בְּנִבְלָתָם יִטְמָא׃
However, a spring or cistern in which water is collected shall be pure, but whoever touches such a carcass in it shall be impure.
Targum Onkelos
בְּרַם מַעְיָן וְגוּב בֵּית כְּנֵישַׁת מַיָּא יְהֵי דְּכֵי וּדְיִקְרַב בִּנְבִילַתְהוֹן יְהֵי מְסָאַב׃
However, a well-spring and a pit, a gathering of [place of gathered] water, shall be pure. [But] that which touches their carcasses shall be unclean.
- Leviticus 11:37
וְכִי יִפֹּל מִנִּבְלָתָם עַל־כׇּל־זֶרַע זֵרוּעַ אֲשֶׁר יִזָּרֵעַ טָהוֹר הוּא׃
If such a carcass falls upon seed grain that is to be sown, it is pure;
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲרֵי יִפּוֹל מִנְּבִילַתְהוֹן עַל כָּל בַּר זְרַע זֵירוּעַ דְּיִזְדְּרַע דְּכֵי הוּא׃
If any part of their carcasses falls on any sowing seed that will be planted, it remains [ritually] clean.
- Leviticus 11:38
וְכִי יֻתַּן־מַיִם עַל־זֶרַע וְנָפַל מִנִּבְלָתָם עָלָיו טָמֵא הוּא לָכֶם׃
but if water is put on the seed and any part of a carcass falls upon it, it shall be impure for you.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲרֵי יִתְיַהְבּוּן מַיָּא עַל בַּר זַרְעָא וְיִפּוֹל מִנְּבִילַתְהוֹן עֲלוֹהִי מְסָאַב הוּא לְכוֹן׃
If water was once placed on seeds and part of their carcasses fall upon them, they are unclean to you.
- Leviticus 11:39
וְכִי יָמוּת מִן־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר־הִיא לָכֶם לְאׇכְלָה הַנֹּגֵעַ בְּנִבְלָתָהּ יִטְמָא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
If an animal that you may eat has died, anyone who touches its carcass shall be impure until evening;
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲרֵי יְמוּת מִן בְּעִירָא דְּהִיא לְכוֹן לְמֵיכַל דְּיִקְרַב בִּנְבִילְתַהּ יְהֵי מְסָאַב עַד רַמְשָׁא׃
If any animal dies [of those] that are permitted to eat whoever touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
- Leviticus 11:40
וְהָאֹכֵל מִנִּבְלָתָהּ יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב וְהַנֹּשֵׂא אֶת־נִבְלָתָהּ יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
anyone who eats of its carcass shall wash their clothes and remain impure until evening; and anyone who carries its carcass shall wash their clothes and remain impure until evening.
Targum Onkelos
וּדְיֵיכוֹל מִנְּבִילְתַהּ יְצַבַּע לְבוּשׁוֹהִי וִיהֵי מְסָאַב עַד רַמְשָׁא וּדְיִטּוֹל יָת נְבִילְתַהּ יְצַבַּע לְבוּשׁוֹהִי וִיהֵי מְסָאַב עַד רַמְשָׁא׃
Whoever eats of its carcass shall wash his garments and is unclean until the evening. Whoever carries its carcass shall wash his garments and is unclean until the evening.

וְכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ עַל־הָאָרֶץ שֶׁקֶץ הוּא לֹא יֵאָכֵל׃
All the things that swarm upon the earth are an abomination; they shall not be eaten.
Targum Onkelos
וְכָל רִחְשָׁא דְּרָחֵישׁ עַל אַרְעָא שִׁקְצָא הוּא לָא יִתְאֲכִיל׃
Every creeping creature which crawls on the ground is repulsive, it may not be eaten.

כֹּל הוֹלֵךְ עַל־גָּחוֹן וְכֹל ׀ הוֹלֵךְ עַל־אַרְבַּע עַד כׇּל־מַרְבֵּה רַגְלַיִם לְכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ עַל־הָאָרֶץ לֹא תֹאכְלוּם כִּי־שֶׁקֶץ הֵם׃
You shall not eat, among all things that swarm upon the earth, anything that crawls on its belly, or anything that walks on fours, or anything that has many legs; for they are an abomination.
Targum Onkelos
כֹּל דִּמְהַלֵּיךְ עַל מְעוֹהִי וְכֹל דִּמְהַלֵּיךְ עַל אַרְבַּע עַד כָּל סַגְיוּת רַגְלִין בְּכָל רִחְשָׁא דְּרָחֵישׁ עַל אַרְעָא לָא תֵיכְלוּנוּנוּן אֲרֵי שִׁקְצָא אִנּוּן׃
Whatever crawls on its belly and whatever goes on four [legs] or whatever has many feet; regarding all creeping creatures that crawl on the ground; you may not eat them, for they are repulsive.
- Leviticus 11:43
אַל־תְּשַׁקְּצוּ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם בְּכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ וְלֹא תִטַּמְּאוּ בָּהֶם וְנִטְמֵתֶם בָּם׃
You shall not draw abomination upon yourselves through anything that swarms; you shall not make yourselves impure therewith and thus become impure.
Targum Onkelos
לָא תְשַׁקְּצוּן יָת נַפְשָׁתְכוֹן בְּכָל רִחְשָׁא דְּרָחֵישׁ וְלָא תִסְתָּאֲבוּן בְּהוֹן וְתִסְתָּאֲבוּן פּוֹן בְּהוֹן׃
Do not make yourselves repulsive by [eating] any creeping creature that crawls, and do not make yourselves unclean with them, for you will become unclean because of them.
- Leviticus 11:44
כִּי אֲנִי יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתֶּם וִהְיִיתֶם קְדֹשִׁים כִּי קָדוֹשׁ אָנִי וְלֹא תְטַמְּאוּ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם בְּכׇל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
For I the ETERNAL am your God: you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am holy. You shall not make yourselves impure through any swarming thing that moves upon the earth.
Targum Onkelos
אֲרֵי אֲנָא יְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן וְתִתְקַדְּשׁוּן וּתְהוֹן קַדִּישִׁין אֲרֵי קַדִּישׁ אֲנָא וְלָא תְסָאֲבוּן יָת נַפְשָׁתְכוֹן בְּכָל רִחְשָׁא דְּרָחֵישׁ עַל אַרְעָא׃
For I am Adonoy, your God; you shall sanctify yourselves and you shall become holy, for I am Holy and you shall not make yourselves unclean with any creeping creature that crawls on the ground.
- Leviticus 11:45
כִּי ׀ אֲנִי יְהֹוָה הַמַּעֲלֶה אֶתְכֶם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם לִהְיֹת לָכֶם לֵאלֹהִים וִהְיִיתֶם קְדֹשִׁים כִּי קָדוֹשׁ אָנִי׃
For I the ETERNAL am the One who brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God: you shall be holy, for I am holy.
Targum Onkelos
אֲרֵי אֲנָא יְיָ דְּאַסֵּיק יָתְכוֹן מֵאַרְעָא דְּמִצְרַיִם לְמִהְוֵי לְכוֹן לֶאֱלָהּ וּתְהוֹן קַדִּישִׁין אֲרֵי קַדִּישׁ אֲנָא׃
For I am Adonoy, who brings you up from the land of Egypt to be your God. You shall be holy, for I am Holy.
- Leviticus 11:46
זֹאת תּוֹרַת הַבְּהֵמָה וְהָעוֹף וְכֹל נֶפֶשׁ הַחַיָּה הָרֹמֶשֶׂת בַּמָּיִם וּלְכׇל־נֶפֶשׁ הַשֹּׁרֶצֶת עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
These are the instructions concerning animals, birds, all living creatures that move in water, and all creatures that swarm on earth,
Targum Onkelos
דָּא אוֹרָיְתָא דִּבְעִירָא וּדְעוֹפָא וּלְכֹל נַפְשָׁא חַיְתָא דְּרָחֲשָׁא בְּמַיָּא וּלְכָל נַפְשָׁא דְּרָחֲשָׁא עַל אַרְעָא׃
This is the law concerning the animals and the fowl and of all living creatures that swarm in the waters and for all creatures that crawl on the earth.
- Leviticus 11:47
לְהַבְדִּיל בֵּין הַטָּמֵא וּבֵין הַטָּהֹר וּבֵין הַחַיָּה הַנֶּאֱכֶלֶת וּבֵין הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר לֹא תֵאָכֵל׃
for distinguishing between the impure and the pure, between the living things that may be eaten and the living things that may not be eaten.
Targum Onkelos
לְאַפְרָשָׁא בֵּין מְסָאֲבָא וּבֵין דָּכְיָא וּבֵין חַיְתָא דְּמִתְאַכְלָא וּבֵין חַיְתָא דְּלָא מִתְאַכְלָא׃
To distinguish between the unclean and between the clean, and between the living creatures which may be eaten and between the living creature which may not be eaten.
