- Genesis 9:8
וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־נֹחַ וְאֶל־בָּנָיו אִתּוֹ לֵאמֹר׃
And God said to Noah and to his sons with him,
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְנֹחַ וְלִבְנוֹהִי עִמֵּיהּ לְמֵימַר׃
Elohim said to Noach and to his sons with him, saying,
- Genesis 9:9
וַאֲנִי הִנְנִי מֵקִים אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתְּכֶם וְאֶת־זַרְעֲכֶם אַחֲרֵיכֶם׃
“I now establish My covenant with you and your offspring to come,
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲנָא הָאֲנָא מְקִים יָת קְיָמִי עִמְּכוֹן וְעִם בְּנֵיכוֹן בָּתְרֵיכוֹן׃
Behold, I am making a covenant with you and with your offspring after you.

וְאֵת כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר אִתְּכֶם בָּעוֹף בַּבְּהֵמָה וּבְכׇל־חַיַּת הָאָרֶץ אִתְּכֶם מִכֹּל יֹצְאֵי הַתֵּבָה לְכֹל חַיַּת הָאָרֶץ׃
and with every living thing that is with you—birds, cattle, and every wild beast as well—all that have come out of the ark, every living thing on earth.
Targum Onkelos
וְעִם כָּל נַפְשָׁא חַיְתָא דְּעִמְּכוֹן בְּעוֹפָא בִּבְעִירָא וּבְכָל חַיַּת אַרְעָא עִמְּכוֹן מִכֹּל נָפְקֵי תֵּיבְתָא לְכֹל חַיַּת אַרְעָא׃
And with every living creature that is with you, with the birds, the animals, and all the beasts of the earth with you, all who departed from the ark, including every living creature on earth.
- Genesis 9:11
וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתְּכֶם וְלֹא־יִכָּרֵת כׇּל־בָּשָׂר עוֹד מִמֵּי הַמַּבּוּל וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עוֹד מַבּוּל לְשַׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ׃
I will maintain My covenant with you: never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲקֵים יָת קְיָמִי עִמְּכוֹן וְלָא יִשְׁתֵּיצֵי כָּל בִּסְרָא עוֹד מִמֵּי טוֹפָנָא וְלָא יְהֵי עוֹד טוֹפָנָא לְחַבָּלָא אַרְעָא׃
I will keep My covenant with you, that never again will all flesh be cut off by flood waters, never again will flood waters destroy the earth.
- Genesis 9:12
וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים זֹאת אוֹת־הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִי נֹתֵן בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵיכֶם וּבֵין כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה אֲשֶׁר אִתְּכֶם לְדֹרֹת עוֹלָם׃
God further said, “This is the sign that I set for the covenant between Me and you, and every living creature with you, for all ages to come.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר יְיָ דָּא אָת קְיָם דַּאֲנָא יָהֵיב בֵּין מֵימְרִי וּבֵינֵיכוֹן וּבֵין כָּל נַפְשָׁא חַיְתָא דְּעִמְּכוֹן לְדָרֵי עָלְמָא׃
Elohim said, This is the sign of the covenant that I pledge between Myself [My Word] and you, and between every living creature that is with you, for the generations of all time.
- Genesis 9:13
אֶת־קַשְׁתִּי נָתַתִּי בֶּעָנָן וְהָיְתָה לְאוֹת בְּרִית בֵּינִי וּבֵין הָאָרֶץ׃
I have set My bow in the clouds, and it shall serve as a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
Targum Onkelos
יָת קַשְׁתִּי יְהַבִית בַּעֲנָנָא וּתְהֵי לְאָת קְיָם בֵּין מֵימְרִי וּבֵין אַרְעָא׃
I have set My [rain] bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Myself [My Word] and the earth.
- Genesis 9:14
וְהָיָה בְּעַנְנִי עָנָן עַל־הָאָרֶץ וְנִרְאֲתָה הַקֶּשֶׁת בֶּעָנָן׃
When I bring clouds over the earth, and the bow appears in the clouds,
Targum Onkelos
וִיהֵי בְּעַנָּנוּתִי עֲנָנָא עַל אַרְעָא וְתִתַּחְזֵי קַשְׁתָּא בַּעֲנָנָא׃
At a time when I bring clouds over the earth, the [rain] bow will be seen in the clouds.
- Genesis 9:15
וְזָכַרְתִּי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אֲשֶׁר בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵיכֶם וּבֵין כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה בְּכׇל־בָּשָׂר וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עוֹד הַמַּיִם לְמַבּוּל לְשַׁחֵת כׇּל־בָּשָׂר׃
I will remember My covenant between Me and you and every living creature among all flesh, so that the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Targum Onkelos
וּדְכִירְנָא יָת קְיָמִי דְּבֵין מֵימְרִי וּבֵינֵיכוֹן וּבֵין כָּל נַפְשָׁא חַיְתָא בְּכָל בִּסְרָא וְלָא יְהֵי עוֹד מַיָּא לְטוֹפָנָא לְחַבָּלָא כָּל בִּסְרָא׃
I shall remember My covenant that is between Myself [My Word] and you, and between every living soul in all flesh, that never again will flood waters destroy all flesh.
- Genesis 9:16
וְהָיְתָה הַקֶּשֶׁת בֶּעָנָן וּרְאִיתִיהָ לִזְכֹּר בְּרִית עוֹלָם בֵּין אֱלֹהִים וּבֵין כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה בְּכׇל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures, all flesh that is on earth.
Targum Onkelos
וּתְהֵי קַשְׁתָּא בַּעֲנָנָא וְאַחְזֵינַהּ לְדוּכְרַן קְיָם עָלַם בֵּין מֵימְרָא דַּייָ וּבֵין כָּל נַפְשָׁא חַיְתָא בְּכָל בִּסְרָא דְּעַל אַרְעָא׃
The [rain]bow shall be in the clouds, and I will see it to remember the eternal covenant between [the Word of] Elohim and between every living soul that is in all flesh that is on the earth.
- Genesis 9:17
וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־נֹחַ זֹאת אוֹת־הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר הֲקִמֹתִי בֵּינִי וּבֵין כׇּל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
That,” God said to Noah, “shall be the sign of the covenant that I have established between Me and all flesh that is on earth.”
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְנֹחַ דָּא אָת קְיָם דַּאֲקֵימִית בֵּין מֵימְרִי וּבֵין כָּל בִּסְרָא דְּעַל אַרְעָא׃
Elohim said to Noach, This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between Myself [My Word] and between all flesh that is on the earth.
