- Genesis 6:9
אֵלֶּה תּוֹלְדֹת נֹחַ נֹחַ אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים הָיָה בְּדֹרֹתָיו אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים הִתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹחַ׃
This is the line of Noah.—Noah was a righteous man; he was blameless in his age; Noah walked with God.—
Targum Onkelos
אִלֵּין תּוֹלְדָת נֹחַ נֹחַ גְּבַר זַכַּאי שְׁלִים הֲוָה בְּדָרוֹהִי בְּדַחְלְתָא דַּייָ הַלֵּיךְ נֹחַ׃
These are the progeny of Noach. Noach was a righteous man, flawless in his generations; Noach walked with [the fear of] Elohim.
- Genesis 6:10
וַיּוֹלֶד נֹחַ שְׁלֹשָׁה בָנִים אֶת־שֵׁם אֶת־חָם וְאֶת־יָפֶת׃
Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Targum Onkelos
וְאוֹלֵיד נֹחַ תְּלָתָא בְּנִין יָת שֵׁם יָת חָם וְיָת יָפֶת׃
Noach fathered three sons, Sheim, Cham and Yafes.
- Genesis 6:11
וַתִּשָּׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ חָמָס׃
The earth became corrupt before God; the earth was filled with lawlessness.
Targum Onkelos
וְאִתְחַבַּלַת אַרְעָא קֳדָם יְיָ וְאִתְמְלִיאַת אַרְעָא חָטוֹפִין׃
The earth was corrupt before Elohim, and the earth was filled with violent crime.

וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וְהִנֵּה נִשְׁחָתָה כִּי־הִשְׁחִית כׇּל־בָּשָׂר אֶת־דַּרְכּוֹ עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
When God saw how corrupt the earth was, for all flesh had corrupted its ways on earth,
Targum Onkelos
וַחֲזָא יְיָ יָת אַרְעָא וְהָא אִתְחַבַּלַת אֲרֵי חַבִּילוּ כָּל בִּסְרָא אֲנָשׁ אוֹרְחֵיהּ עַל אַרְעָא׃
Elohim saw the earth and beheld that it was corrupt, for all flesh [of man] had corrupted its way on the earth.
- Genesis 6:13
וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים לְנֹחַ קֵץ כׇּל־בָּשָׂר בָּא לְפָנַי כִּי־מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ חָמָס מִפְּנֵיהֶם וְהִנְנִי מַשְׁחִיתָם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃
God said to Noah, “I have decided to put an end to all flesh, for the earth is filled with lawlessness because of them: I am about to destroy them with the earth.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְנֹחַ קִצָּא דְּכָל בִּסְרָא עָאל לִקְדָמַי אֲרֵי אִתְמְלִיאַת אַרְעָא חָטוֹפִין מִן קֳדָם עוֹבָדֵיהוֹן בִּישַׁיָּא וְהָאֲנָא מְחַבֵּילְהוֹן עִם אַרְעָא׃
Elohim said to Noach, The end of all flesh has come before Me. For the earth is filled with violent crime because of them [their evil deeds], and so, I will destroy them with the earth.
- Genesis 6:14
עֲשֵׂה לְךָ תֵּבַת עֲצֵי־גֹפֶר קִנִּים תַּעֲשֶׂה אֶת־הַתֵּבָה וְכָפַרְתָּ אֹתָהּ מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ בַּכֹּפֶר׃
Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; make it an ark with compartments, and cover it inside and out with pitch.
Targum Onkelos
עֲבֵיד לָךְ תֵּיבְתָא דְּאָעִין דְּקַדְרוֹס מְדוֹרִין תַּעֲבֵיד יָת תֵּיבְתָא וְתִחְפֵי יָתַהּ מִגָּיו וּמִבַּרָא בְּכוּפְרָא׃
Make for yourself an ark of cedar wood. Make the ark into compartments and caulk the inside and outside with tar.
- Genesis 6:15
וְזֶה אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתָהּ שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת אַמָּה אֹרֶךְ הַתֵּבָה חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה רׇחְבָּהּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אַמָּה קוֹמָתָהּ׃
This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
Targum Onkelos
וְדֵין דְּתַעֲבֵיד יָתַהּ תְּלָת מְאָה אַמִּין אוּרְכָּא דְּתֵיבְתָא חַמְשִׁין אַמִּין פּוּתְיַהּ וּתְלָתִין אַמִּין רוּמַהּ׃
This is how you should make it; the ark’s length shall be three hundred amos, its width fifty amos, and its height thirty amos.
- Genesis 6:16
צֹהַר ׀ תַּעֲשֶׂה לַתֵּבָה וְאֶל־אַמָּה תְּכַלֶּנָּה מִלְמַעְלָה וּפֶתַח הַתֵּבָה בְּצִדָּהּ תָּשִׂים תַּחְתִּיִּם שְׁנִיִּם וּשְׁלִשִׁים תַּעֲשֶׂהָ׃
Make an opening for daylight in the ark, and terminate it within a cubit of the top. Put the entrance to the ark in its side; make it with bottom, second, and third decks.
Targum Onkelos
נֵיהוֹר תַּעֲבֵיד לְתֵיבְתָא וּלְאַמְּתָא תְּשַׁכְלְלִנַּהּ מִלְּעֵילָא וְתַרְעַהּ דְּתֵיבְתָא בְּסִטְרַהּ תְּשַׁוֵּי מְדוֹרִין אַרְעָאִין תִּנְיָנִין וּתְלִיתָאִין תַּעְבְּדִנַּהּ׃
Make a skylight [light] for the ark, and finish it to one amoh at the top. Place the opening of the ark in its side. Make a lower deck, a second and a third deck.

וַאֲנִי הִנְנִי מֵבִיא אֶת־הַמַּבּוּל מַיִם עַל־הָאָרֶץ לְשַׁחֵת כׇּל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר־בּוֹ רוּחַ חַיִּים מִתַּחַת הַשָּׁמָיִם כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָרֶץ יִגְוָע׃
“For My part, I am about to bring the Flood—waters upon the earth—to destroy all flesh under the sky in which there is breath of life; everything on earth shall perish.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲנָא הָאֲנָא מֵיתֵי יָת טוֹפָנָא מַיָּא עַל אַרְעָא לְחַבָּלָא כָּל בִּסְרָא דְּבֵיהּ רוּחָא דְּחַיֵּי מִתְּחוֹת שְׁמַיָּא כֹּל דִּבְאַרְעָא יְמוּת׃
Behold I am bringing the flood waters on the earth, to destroy all flesh in which there is the breath of life, from under the heavens. Everything that is on the land will perish.
- Genesis 6:18
וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתָּךְ וּבָאתָ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּנְשֵׁי־בָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ׃
But I will establish My covenant with you, and you shall enter the ark, with your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲקֵים יָת קְיָמִי עִמָּךְ וְתֵיעוֹל לְתֵיבְתָא אַתְּ וּבְנָךְ וְאִתְּתָךְ וּנְשֵׁי בְנָךְ עִמָּךְ׃
I established My covenant with you. You shall go into the ark, you, your sons, your wife and your son’s wives, with you.
- Genesis 6:19
וּמִכׇּל־הָחַי מִכׇּל־בָּשָׂר שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל תָּבִיא אֶל־הַתֵּבָה לְהַחֲיֹת אִתָּךְ זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה יִהְיוּ׃
And of all that lives, of all flesh, you shall take two of each into the ark to keep alive with you; they shall be male and female.
Targum Onkelos
וּמִכָּל דְּחַי מִכָּל בִּסְרָא תְּרֵין מִכּוֹלָא תַּעֵיל לְתֵיבְתָא לְקַיָּימָא עִמָּךְ דְּכַר וְנוּקְבָּא יְהוֹן׃
From all living things, from all flesh, two of each shall you bring to the ark, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.
- Genesis 6:20
מֵהָעוֹף לְמִינֵהוּ וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה לְמִינָהּ מִכֹּל רֶמֶשׂ הָאֲדָמָה לְמִינֵהוּ שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל יָבֹאוּ אֵלֶיךָ לְהַחֲיוֹת׃
From birds of every kind, cattle of every kind, every kind of creeping thing on earth, two of each shall come to you to stay alive.
Targum Onkelos
מֵעוֹפָא לִזְנוֹהִי וּמִן בְּעִירָא לִזְנַהּ מִכֹּל רִחְשָׁא דְּאַרְעָא לִזְנוֹהִי תְּרֵין מִכּוֹלָא יֵיעֲלוּן לְוָתָךְ לְקַיָּימָא׃
From the birds of their kind, from the animals of their kind, from every creeping thing of the earth of its kind, two of each will come to you to be kept alive.
- Genesis 6:21
וְאַתָּה קַח־לְךָ מִכׇּל־מַאֲכָל אֲשֶׁר יֵאָכֵל וְאָסַפְתָּ אֵלֶיךָ וְהָיָה לְךָ וְלָהֶם לְאׇכְלָה׃
For your part, take of everything that is eaten and store it away, to serve as food for you and for them.”
Targum Onkelos
וְאַתְּ סַב לָךְ מִכָּל מֵיכָל דְּמִתְאֲכִיל וְתִכְנוֹשׁ לְוָתָךְ וִיהֵי לָךְ וּלְהוֹן לְמֵיכַל׃
You shall take for yourself from all [the] foods that are eaten, and gather it to yourself, and it will be food for you and for them.
- Genesis 6:22
וַיַּעַשׂ נֹחַ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֹתוֹ אֱלֹהִים כֵּן עָשָׂה׃
Noah did so; just as God commanded him, so he did.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד נֹחַ כְּכֹל דְּפַקֵּיד יָתֵיהּ יְיָ כֵּן עֲבַד׃
Noach did so. All that he was commanded by Elohim, he did.
