- Leviticus 20:23
וְלֹא תֵלְכוּ בְּחֻקֹּת הַגּוֹי אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִי מְשַׁלֵּחַ מִפְּנֵיכֶם כִּי אֶת־כׇּל־אֵלֶּה עָשׂוּ וָאָקֻץ בָּם׃
You shall not follow the practices of the nation that I am driving out before you. For it is because they did all these things that I abhorred them
Targum Onkelos
וְלָא תְהָכוּן בְּנִמּוֹסֵי עַמְמַיָּא דַּאֲנָא מַגְלֵי מִן קֳדָמֵיכוֹן אֲרֵי יָת כָּל אִלֵּין עֲבַדוּ וְרַחֵיק מֵימְרִי יָתְהוֹן׃
You shall not follow the customs of the nation which I am expelling before you. For they have done all these above mentioned sins and I became disgusted with [my Word distanced] them.
- Leviticus 20:24
וָאֹמַר לָכֶם אַתֶּם תִּירְשׁוּ אֶת־אַדְמָתָם וַאֲנִי אֶתְּנֶנָּה לָכֶם לָרֶשֶׁת אֹתָהּ אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ אֲנִי יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר־הִבְדַּלְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מִן־הָעַמִּים׃
and said to you: You shall possess their land, for I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey. I the ETERNAL am your God who has set you apart from other peoples.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַרִית לְכוֹן אַתּוּן תֵּירְתוּן יָת אֲרַעְהוֹן וַאֲנָא אֶתְּנִנַּהּ לְכוֹן לְמֵירַת יָתַהּ אֲרַע עָבְדָא חֲלָב וּדְבָשׁ אֲנָא יְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן דְּאַפְרֵישִׁית יָתְכוֹן מִן עַמְמַיָּא׃
And I have said to you [that] you shall inherit their land, and I shall give it to you that you may inherit it, a land flowing with [producing] milk and honey, I am Adonoy, your God who separated you from the [other] peoples.
- Leviticus 20:25
וְהִבְדַּלְתֶּם בֵּין־הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהֹרָה לַטְּמֵאָה וּבֵין־הָעוֹף הַטָּמֵא לַטָּהֹר וְלֹא־תְשַׁקְּצוּ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם בַּבְּהֵמָה וּבָעוֹף וּבְכֹל אֲשֶׁר תִּרְמֹשׂ הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר־הִבְדַּלְתִּי לָכֶם לְטַמֵּא׃
So you shall set apart the pure animal from the impure, the impure bird from the pure. You shall not draw abomination upon yourselves through that which I have set apart for you to treat as impure—[whether] animal or bird or anything with which the ground is alive.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַפְרְשׁוּן בֵּין בְּעִירָא דָּכְיָא לִמְסָאֲבָא וּבֵין עוֹפָא מְסָאֲבָא לְדָכְיָא וְלָא תְשַׁקְּצוּן יָת נַפְשָׁתְכוֹן בִּבְעִירָא וּבְעוֹפָא וּבְכֹל דְּתַרְחֵישׁ אַרְעָא דְּאַפְרֵישִׁית לְכוֹן לְסַאָבָא׃
You shall distinguish between a [ritually] clean animal and a unclean one, between the unclean fowl and the clean one. Do not make yourselves disgusting through the animals, fowl or through any creature that creeps on the ground which I have distinguished for you as being unclean.
- Leviticus 20:26
וִהְיִיתֶם לִי קְדֹשִׁים כִּי קָדוֹשׁ אֲנִי יְהֹוָה וָאַבְדִּל אֶתְכֶם מִן־הָעַמִּים לִהְיוֹת לִי׃
You shall be holy to Me, for I GOD am holy, and I have set you apart from other peoples to be Mine.
Targum Onkelos
וּתְהוֹן קֳדָמַי קַדִּישִׁין אֲרֵי קַדִּישׁ אֲנָא יְיָ וְאַפְרֵישִׁית יָתְכוֹן מִן עַמְמַיָּא לְמִהְוֵי פָלְחִין קֳדָמָי׃
You shall be holy to [before] Me, for I, Adonoy, am holy and I have distinguished you from the [other] peoples to be Mine [and to serve Me] [be worshippers before Me].
- Leviticus 20:27
וְאִישׁ אוֹ־אִשָּׁה כִּי־יִהְיֶה בָהֶם אוֹב אוֹ יִדְּעֹנִי מוֹת יוּמָתוּ בָּאֶבֶן יִרְגְּמוּ אֹתָם דְּמֵיהֶם בָּם׃
A man or a woman who has a ghost or a familiar spirit shall be put to death; they shall be pelted with stones—and the bloodguilt is theirs.
Targum Onkelos
וּגְבַר אוֹ אִתָּא אֲרֵי יְהֵי בְהוֹן בִּדִּין אוֹ זְכוּרוּ אִתְקְטָלָא יִתְקַטְלוּן בְּאַבְנָא יִרְגְּמוּן יָתְהוֹן קַטְלָא חַיָּיבִין׃
If among the men or women there will be a medium or an oracle they shall surely be put to death. You shall stone them to death, their blood is on them [they are liable to the death penalty].
