- Leviticus 20:1
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃
And GOD spoke to Moses:
Targum Onkelos
וּמַלֵּיל יְיָ עִם מֹשֶׁה לְמֵימַר׃
Adonoy spoke to Moshe, saying:
- Leviticus 20:2
וְאֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תֹּאמַר אִישׁ אִישׁ מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וּמִן־הַגֵּר ׀ הַגָּר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר יִתֵּן מִזַּרְעוֹ לַמֹּלֶךְ מוֹת יוּמָת עַם הָאָרֶץ יִרְגְּמֻהוּ בָאָבֶן׃
Say further to the Israelite people: Anyone among the Israelites, or among the strangers residing in Israel, who gives any offspring to Molech, shall be put to death; the people of the land shall pelt them with stones.
Targum Onkelos
וְעִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תֵּימַר גְּבַר גְּבַר מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וּמִן גִּיּוֹרַיָּא דְּיִיתְגַּיְּרוּן בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל דְּיִתֵּין מִזַּרְעֵיהּ לְמֹלֶךְ אִתְקְטָלָא יִתְקְטִיל עַמָּא בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל יִרְגְּמוּנֵּיהּ בְּאַבְנָא׃
And to Bnei Yisrael you shall say: that each and every man of Bnei Yisroel and from the proselytes that reside [convert] in Israel, who will give any of his children to Molech, [that] he shall surely be put to death; the people of the land [House of Israel] shall stone him to death.
- Leviticus 20:3
וַאֲנִי אֶתֵּן אֶת־פָּנַי בָּאִישׁ הַהוּא וְהִכְרַתִּי אֹתוֹ מִקֶּרֶב עַמּוֹ כִּי מִזַּרְעוֹ נָתַן לַמֹּלֶךְ לְמַעַן טַמֵּא אֶת־מִקְדָּשִׁי וּלְחַלֵּל אֶת־שֵׁם קׇדְשִׁי׃
And I will set My face against [that party], whom I will cut off from among their kin for having given offspring to Molech and so defiled My sanctuary and profaned My holy name.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲנָא אֶתֵּין יָת רוּגְזִי בַּאֲנָשָׁא הַהוּא וַאֲשֵׁיצֵי יָתֵיהּ מִגּוֹ עַמֵּיהּ אֲרֵי מִזַּרְעֵיהּ יְהַב לְמוֹלֶךְ בְּדִיל לְסַאָבָא יָת מַקְדְּשִׁי וּלְאַחָלָא יָת שְׁמָא דְּקוּדְשִׁי׃
I shall direct My wrath on that man and I shall cut him off from among his people, for he gave of his children to Molech, in order to defile My Sanctuary and profane My Holy Name.
- Leviticus 20:4
וְאִם הַעְלֵם יַעְלִימוּ עַם הָאָרֶץ אֶת־עֵינֵיהֶם מִן־הָאִישׁ הַהוּא בְּתִתּוֹ מִזַּרְעוֹ לַמֹּלֶךְ לְבִלְתִּי הָמִית אֹתוֹ׃
And if the people of the land should shut their eyes to that party’s giving offspring to Molech, and should not put them to death,
Targum Onkelos
וְאִם מִכְבָּשׁ יִכְבְּשׁוּן עַמָּא בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל יָת עֵינֵיהוֹן מִן גּוּבְרָא הַהוּא בְּדִיהַב מִזַּרְעֵיהּ לְמֹלֶךְ בְּדִיל דְּלָא לְמִקְטַל יָתֵיהּ׃
If the people of the land [House of Israel] will hide their eyes from that person, when he gives of his children to Molech, and they do not put him to death.
- Leviticus 20:5
וְשַׂמְתִּי אֲנִי אֶת־פָּנַי בָּאִישׁ הַהוּא וּבְמִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ וְהִכְרַתִּי אֹתוֹ וְאֵת ׀ כׇּל־הַזֹּנִים אַחֲרָיו לִזְנוֹת אַחֲרֵי הַמֹּלֶךְ מִקֶּרֶב עַמָּם׃
I Myself will set My face against not only that party but also their clan; and I will cut them off from among their people—all who follow in going astray after Molech.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲשַׁוֵּי אֲנָא יָת רוּגְזִי בְּגוּבְרָא הַהוּא וּבְסָעֲדוֹהִי וַאֲשֵׁיצֵי יָתֵיהּ וְיָת כָּל דְּטָעַן בָּתְרוֹהִי לְמִטְעֵי בָּתַר מוֹלֶךְ מִגּוֹ עַמְּהוֹן׃
I shall set My wrath against that man and his family [supporters]; I shall cut him off, along with all those who go astray after him to go astray after Molech, [they will be cut off] from among their people.
- Leviticus 20:6
וְהַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר תִּפְנֶה אֶל־הָאֹבֹת וְאֶל־הַיִּדְּעֹנִים לִזְנֹת אַחֲרֵיהֶם וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־פָּנַי בַּנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא וְהִכְרַתִּי אֹתוֹ מִקֶּרֶב עַמּוֹ׃
And if any person turns to ghosts and familiar spirits and goes astray after them, I will set My face against that person—and I will cut them off from among their kin.
Targum Onkelos
וֶאֱנָשׁ דְּיִתְפְּנֵי בָּתַר בִּדִּין וּזְכוּרוּ לְמִטְעֵי בָּתְרֵיהוֹן וְאֶתֵּין יָת רוֹגְזִי בַּאֲנָשָׁא הַהוּא וַאֲשֵׁיצֵי יָתֵיהּ מִגּוֹ עַמֵּיהּ׃
The person who turns to mediums and oracles to stray after them; I shall direct My wrath against that person and cut him off from among his people.
- Leviticus 20:7
וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתֶּם וִהְיִיתֶם קְדֹשִׁים כִּי אֲנִי יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃
You shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I the ETERNAL am your God.
Targum Onkelos
וְתִתְקַדְּשׁוּן וּתְהוֹן קַדִּישִׁין אֲרֵי אֲנָא יְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן׃
You shall sanctify yourselves and be holy for I am Adonoy, your God.
