- Deuteronomy 3:15
וּלְמָכִיר נָתַתִּי אֶת־הַגִּלְעָד׃
To Machir I assigned Gilead.
Targum Onkelos
וּלְמָכִיר יְהַבִית יָת גִּלְעָד׃
And to Mochir I gave the Gilod.
- Deuteronomy 3:16
וְלָראוּבֵנִי וְלַגָּדִי נָתַתִּי מִן־הַגִּלְעָד וְעַד־נַחַל אַרְנֹן תּוֹךְ הַנַּחַל וּגְבֻל וְעַד יַבֹּק הַנַּחַל גְּבוּל בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן׃
And to the Reubenites and the Gadites I assigned the part from Gilead down to the wadi Arnon, the middle of the wadi being the boundary, and up to the wadi Jabbok, the boundary of the Ammonites.
Targum Onkelos
וּלְשֵׁיבֶט רְאוּבֵן וּלְשֵׁיבֶט גָּד יְהַבִית מִן גִּלְעָד וְעַד נַחְלָא דְּאַרְנוֹן גּוֹ נַחְלָא וּתְחוּמֵיהּ וְעַד יוּבְקָא דְּנַחְלָא תְּחוּמָא דִּבְנֵי עַמּוֹן׃
And to the Reuvenites and to the Gaddites I gave from the Gilod to Wadi Arnon, within the wadi and the border, until Yabok, the wadi at the border of the descendants of Ammon;

וְהָעֲרָבָה וְהַיַּרְדֵּן וּגְבֻל מִכִּנֶּרֶת וְעַד יָם הָעֲרָבָה יָם הַמֶּלַח תַּחַת אַשְׁדֹּת הַפִּסְגָּה מִזְרָחָה׃
[We also seized] the Arabah, from the foot of the slopes of Pisgah on the east, to the edge of the Jordan, and from Chinnereth down to the sea of the Arabah, the Dead Sea.
Targum Onkelos
וּמֵישְׁרָא וְיַרְדְּנָא וּתְחוּמֵיהּ מִגִּנֵּיסַר וְעַד יַמָּא דְּמֵישְׁרָא יַמָּא דְּמִלְחָא תְּחוֹת מַשְׁפַּךְ מֵי רָמְתָא מַדְנְחָא׃
and the Arava and the Yardein and the border; from Kinneres [Ginosar] until Arava Lake, the salt lake, beneath the slopes of the crest to the east.
- Deuteronomy 3:18
וָאֲצַו אֶתְכֶם בָּעֵת הַהִוא לֵאמֹר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם נָתַן לָכֶם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת לְרִשְׁתָּהּ חֲלוּצִים תַּעַבְרוּ לִפְנֵי אֲחֵיכֶם בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל כׇּל־בְּנֵי־חָיִל׃
At that time I charged you, saying, “The ETERNAL your God has given you this country to possess. You must go as shock-troops, warriors all, at the head of your fellow Israelites.
Targum Onkelos
וּפַקֵּידִית יָתְכוֹן בְּעִדָּנָא הַהוּא לְמֵימַר יְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן יְהַב לְכוֹן יָת אַרְעָא הָדָא לְמֵירְתַהּ מְזָרְזִין תִּעְבְּרוּן קֳדָם אֲחֵיכוֹן בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כָּל מְזָרַז חֵילָא׃
I commanded you at the time, saying, ‘‘Adonoy, your God, has given you this land to inherit it. Cross over in the forefront [well armed], ahead of your brothers the Bnei Yisroel, all valorous [armed] soldiers.
- Deuteronomy 3:19
רַק נְשֵׁיכֶם וְטַפְּכֶם וּמִקְנֵכֶם יָדַעְתִּי כִּי־מִקְנֶה רַב לָכֶם יֵשְׁבוּ בְּעָרֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לָכֶם׃
Only your wives, children, and livestock—I know that you have much livestock—shall be left in the towns I have assigned to you,
Targum Onkelos
לְחוֹד נְשֵׁיכוֹן וְטַפְלְכוֹן וּבְעִירְכוֹן יָדַעְנָא אֲרֵי בְעִיר סַגִּי לְכוֹן יִתְּבוּן בְּקִרְוֵיכוֹן דִּיהַבִית לְכוֹן׃
But your wives and your children and your cattle—I know you own much cattle—will live in your cities, which I have given you.
- Deuteronomy 3:20
עַד אֲשֶׁר־יָנִיחַ יְהֹוָה ׀ לַאֲחֵיכֶם כָּכֶם וְיָרְשׁוּ גַם־הֵם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם נֹתֵן לָהֶם בְּעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן וְשַׁבְתֶּם אִישׁ לִירֻשָּׁתוֹ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לָכֶם׃
until GOD has granted your kindred a haven such as you have, and they too have taken possession of the land that the ETERNAL your God is assigning them, beyond the Jordan. Then you may return each to the homestead that I have assigned to him.”
Targum Onkelos
עַד דִּינִיחַ יְיָ לַאֲחֵיכוֹן כְּוָתְכוֹן וְיֵירְתוּן אַף אִנּוּן יָת אַרְעָא דַּייָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן יָהֵיב לְהוֹן בְּעִבְרָא דְּיַרְדְּנָא וּתְתוּבוּן גְּבַר לִירוּתְּתֵיהּ דִּיהַבִית לְכוֹן׃
Until Adonoy grants your brothers [peace] like you, and they too inherit the land that Adonoy, your God, is giving them across the Yardein. Then will you return each of you to his inheritance that I have given you.
- Deuteronomy 3:21
וְאֶת־יְהוֹשׁוּעַ צִוֵּיתִי בָּעֵת הַהִוא לֵאמֹר עֵינֶיךָ הָרֹאֹת אֵת כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לִשְׁנֵי הַמְּלָכִים הָאֵלֶּה כֵּן־יַעֲשֶׂה יְהֹוָה לְכׇל־הַמַּמְלָכוֹת אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עֹבֵר שָׁמָּה׃
I also charged Joshua at that time, saying, “You have seen with your own eyes all that the ETERNAL your God has done to these two kings; so shall GOD do to all the kingdoms into which you shall cross over.
Targum Onkelos
וְיָת יְהוֹשׁוּעַ פַּקֵּידִית בְּעִדָּנָא הַהוּא לְמֵימַר עֵינָךְ חֲזָאָה יָת כָּל דַּעֲבַד יְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן לִתְרֵין מַלְכַיָּא הָאִלֵּין כֵּן יַעֲבֵיד יְיָ לְכָל מַלְכְוָתָא דְּאַתְּ עָבַר לְתַמָּן׃
And Yehoshua I commanded at that time, to say, ‘‘Your eyes will be seeing that everything Adonoy, your God, did to these two kings, so will Adonoy do to all the kingdoms that your are crossing into.
- Deuteronomy 3:22
לֹא תִּירָאוּם כִּי יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם הוּא הַנִּלְחָם לָכֶם׃
Do not fear them, for it is the ETERNAL your God who will battle for you.”
Targum Onkelos
לָא תִדְחֲלוּן מִנְּהוֹן אֲרֵי יְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן מֵימְרֵיהּ מְגִיחַ לְכוֹן׃
Do not fear them, for Adonoy, your God, is the One Who [His word] is waging war for you.’’
