ראשוןRishon
G-d permits Moses to send twelve scouts, one from each tribe except Levi, to explore the Land of Canaan. Moses instructs them to examine the land and bring back samples of its produce.

After forty days, the scouts return with produce and report that the land is abundant but its inhabitants and fortified cities are powerful. Joshua and Caleb encourage the people to trust G-d, but the nation weeps and wants to return to Egypt.

The people threaten to stone Joshua and Caleb, and G-d declares that this generation will not enter the Land. Moses pleads for mercy, and G-d decrees that the Israelites will remain in the wilderness until that generation dies.
רביעיRevi'i
G-d decrees forty years of wandering, and the ten scouts who gave the negative report die. Some Israelites then attempt to enter the Land without G-d’s command and are defeated by the Amalekites and Canaanites; laws for accompanying offerings are then given.
חמישיChamishi
The Torah gives the required amounts of flour, oil, and wine to accompany offerings. The quantities vary according to the type of animal being offered.
שישיShishi
The Torah commands separating a portion of dough and giving it to the Kohen. It also gives the offering required when the community unintentionally violates a commandment after receiving an incorrect ruling from its judges.
שביעיShvi'i
The Torah discusses offerings for individuals who commit idolatry and describes the punishment for a man who deliberately violated Shabbat. It then commands placing tzitzit on four-cornered garments so the Israelites will remember and observe G-d’s commandments.
