- Genesis 36:20
אֵלֶּה בְנֵי־שֵׂעִיר הַחֹרִי יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ לוֹטָן וְשׁוֹבָל וְצִבְעוֹן וַעֲנָה׃
These were the sons of Seir the Horite, who were settled in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
Targum Onkelos
אִלֵּין בְּנֵי שֵׂעִיר חוֹרָאֵי יָתְבֵי אַרְעָא לוֹטָן וְשׁוֹבָל וְצִבְעוֹן וַעֲנָה׃
These are the sons of Se’ir, the Chorite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shoval, Tzivon, and Anoh.

וְדִשׁוֹן וְאֵצֶר וְדִישָׁן אֵלֶּה אַלּוּפֵי הַחֹרִי בְּנֵי שֵׂעִיר בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדוֹם׃
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. Those are the clans of the Horites, the descendants of Seir, in the land of Edom.

וְדִשׁוֹן וְאֵצֶר וְדִישָׁן אִלֵּין רַבְרְבֵי חוֹרָאֵי בְּנֵי שֵׂעִיר בְּאַרְעָא דֶּאֱדוֹם׃
Dishon, Eitzer and Dishan, these are the chiefs of the Chorites, the sons of Se’ir, in the land of Edom.

וַיִּהְיוּ בְנֵי־לוֹטָן חֹרִי וְהֵימָם וַאֲחוֹת לוֹטָן תִּמְנָע׃
The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
Targum Onkelos
וַהֲווֹ בְּנֵי לוֹטָן חוֹרִי וְהֵימָם וַאֲחָתֵיהּ דְּלוֹטָן תִּמְנָע׃
The sons of Lotan were Chori and Heimam. Lotan’s sister was Timna.

וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי שׁוֹבָל עַלְוָן וּמָנַחַת וְעֵיבָל שְׁפוֹ וְאוֹנָם׃
The sons of Shobal were these: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

וְאִלֵּין בְּנֵי שׁוֹבָל עַלְוָן וּמָנַחַת וְעֵיבָל שְׁפוֹ וְאוֹנָם׃
These are the sons of Shoval: Alvan, Manachas, Eival, Shefo and Onom.

וְאֵלֶּה בְנֵי־צִבְעוֹן וְאַיָּה וַעֲנָה הוּא עֲנָה אֲשֶׁר מָצָא אֶת־הַיֵּמִם בַּמִּדְבָּר בִּרְעֹתוֹ אֶת־הַחֲמֹרִים לְצִבְעוֹן אָבִיו׃
The sons of Zibeon were these: Aiah and Anah—that was the Anah who discovered the hot springs in the wilderness while pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.

וְאִלֵּין בְּנֵי צִבְעוֹן וְאַיָּה וַעֲנָה הוּא עֲנָה דְּאַשְׁכַּח יָת גִּבָּרַיָּא בְּמַדְבְּרָא כַּד הֲוָה רָעֵי יָת חֲמָרַיָּא לְצִבְעוֹן אֲבוּהִי׃
These are the sons of Tzivon: Ayoh and Anoh. He is the same Anoh who found the mules [mighty ones] in the desert while tending the donkeys for his father, Tzivon.

וְאֵלֶּה בְנֵי־עֲנָה דִּשֹׁן וְאׇהֳלִיבָמָה בַּת־עֲנָה׃
The children of Anah were these: Dishon and Anah’s daughter Oholibamah.

וְאִלֵּין בְּנֵי עֲנָה דִּישׁוֹן וְאָהֳלִיבָמָה בַת עֲנָה׃
These are the children of Anoh: Dishon, and Oholivomoh the daughter of Anoh.

וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי דִישָׁן חֶמְדָּן וְאֶשְׁבָּן וְיִתְרָן וּכְרָן׃
The sons of Dishon were these: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

These are the sons of Dishon: Chemdan, Eshban, Yisran and Keran.

The sons of Ezer were these: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.

These are the sons of Eitzer: Bilhan, Za’avan and Akan.

Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

וּמְלַךְ בֶּאֱדוֹם בֶּלַע בַּר בְּעוֹר וְשׁוֹם קַרְתֵּיהּ דִּנְהָבָה׃
Bela, son of Be’or reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhavah.

וַיָּמׇת בָּלַע וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו יוֹבָב בֶּן־זֶרַח מִבׇּצְרָה׃
When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah, from Bozrah, succeeded him as king.

וּמִית בָּלַע וּמְלַךְ תְּחוֹתוֹהִי יוֹבָב בַּר זֶרַח מִבָּצְרָה׃
Bela died, and he was succeeded as king by Yovav, son of Zerach, from Botzroh.

When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites succeeded him as king.

וּמִית יוֹבָב וּמְלַךְ תְּחוֹתוֹהִי חוּשָׁם מֵאֲרַע דָּרוֹמָא׃
Yovav died, and he was succeeded as king by Chusham from the land of the Teimanites [South].

וַיָּמׇת חֻשָׁם וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו הֲדַד בֶּן־בְּדַד הַמַּכֶּה אֶת־מִדְיָן בִּשְׂדֵה מוֹאָב וְשֵׁם עִירוֹ עֲוִית׃
When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated the Midianites in the country of Moab, succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Avith.

וּמִית חוּשָׁם וּמְלַךְ תְּחוֹתוֹהִי הֲדַד בַּר בְּדַד דְּקַטֵּיל יָת מִדְיַנָאֵי בְּחַקְלֵי מוֹאָב וְשׁוֹם קַרְתֵּיהּ עֲוִית׃
Chusham died, and he was succeeded as king by Hadad, son of Bedad, who attacked [killed] Midian [the Midianites] in the field of Moav, and the name of his city was Avis.

When Hadad died, Samlah of Masrekah succeeded him as king.

Hadad died, and he was succeeded as king by Samlah of Masriekah.

When Samlah died, Saul of Rehoboth-on-the-river succeeded him as king.

וּמִית שַׂמְלָה וּמְלַךְ תְּחוֹתוֹהִי שָׁאוּל מֵרְחוֹבוֹת דְּעַל פְּרָת׃
Samlah died, and he was succeeded as king by Sha’ul from Rechovos-by-the-river [P’ras].

וַיָּמׇת שָׁאוּל וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו בַּעַל חָנָן בֶּן־עַכְבּוֹר׃
When Saul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor succeeded him as king.

וּמִית שָׁאוּל וּמְלַךְ תְּחוֹתוֹהִי בַּעַל חָנָן בַּר עַכְבּוֹר׃
Sha’ul died, and he was succeeded as king by Ba’al-Chanan, son of Achbor.

וַיָּמׇת בַּעַל חָנָן בֶּן־עַכְבּוֹר וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו הֲדַר וְשֵׁם עִירוֹ פָּעוּ וְשֵׁם אִשְׁתּוֹ מְהֵיטַבְאֵל בַּת־מַטְרֵד בַּת מֵי זָהָב׃
And when Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, Hadar succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred daughter of Me-zahab.

וּמִית בַּעַל חָנָן בַּר עַכְבּוֹר וּמְלַךְ תְּחוֹתוֹהִי הֲדַר וְשׁוֹם קַרְתֵּיהּ פָּעוּ וְשׁוֹם אִתְּתֵיהּ מְהֵיטַבְאֵל בַּת מַטְרֵד בַּת מְצָרֵף דַּהְבָּא׃
Ba’al-Chanan, son of Achbor died, and he was succeeded as king by Hadar. The name of his city was Pa’u. His wife’s name was Meheitaveil, the daughter of Matreid, daughter of Mei-Zahav [a goldsmith].

These are the names of the clans of Esau, each with its families and locality, name by name: the clans Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

These are the names of the chiefs of Eisov, each with their families, according to their places, by their names: Chief Timna, Chief Alvoh, Chief Yeseis.

Chief Magdiel, Chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom according to their places of residence, in the land of their possession. Thus was Eisov the ancestor of the Edomites.
