- Exodus 38:1
וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת־מִזְבַּח הָעֹלָה עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים חָמֵשׁ אַמּוֹת אׇרְכּוֹ וְחָמֵשׁ־אַמּוֹת רׇחְבּוֹ רָבוּעַ וְשָׁלֹשׁ אַמּוֹת קֹמָתוֹ׃
He made the altar for burnt offering of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide—square—and three cubits high.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד יָת מַדְבְּחָא דַּעֲלָתָא דְּאָעֵי שִׁטִּין חֲמֵישׁ אַמִּין אוּרְכֵּיהּ וַחֲמֵישׁ אַמִּין פּוּתְיֵיהּ מְרֻבַּע וּתְלָת אַמִּין רוּמֵיהּ׃
He made the burnt-offering altar out of acacia wood. It was five amohs long and five amohs wide, it was square, and three amohs high.
- Exodus 38:2
וַיַּעַשׂ קַרְנֹתָיו עַל אַרְבַּע פִּנֹּתָיו מִמֶּנּוּ הָיוּ קַרְנֹתָיו וַיְצַף אֹתוֹ נְחֹשֶׁת׃
He made horns for it on its four corners, the horns being of one piece with it; and he overlaid it with copper.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד קַרְנוֹהִי עַל אַרְבַּע זָוְיָתֵיהּ מִנֵּיהּ הֲוָאָה קַרְנוֹהִי וַחֲפָא יָתֵיהּ נְחָשָׁא׃
He made its raised projections on its four corners. Its raised projections were one piece with it, and he overlaid it with copper.
- Exodus 38:3
וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת־כׇּל־כְּלֵי הַמִּזְבֵּחַ אֶת־הַסִּירֹת וְאֶת־הַיָּעִים וְאֶת־הַמִּזְרָקֹת אֶת־הַמִּזְלָגֹת וְאֶת־הַמַּחְתֹּת כׇּל־כֵּלָיו עָשָׂה נְחֹשֶׁת׃
He made all the utensils of the altar—the pails, the scrapers, the basins, the flesh hooks, and the fire pans; he made all these utensils of copper.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד יָת כָּל מָנֵי מַדְבְּחָא יָת פְּסַכְתֵּירְוָתָא וְיָת מַגְרוֹפְיָתָא וְיָת מִזְרְקַיָּא יָת צִנּוֹרְיָתָא וְיָת מַחְתְּיָתָא כָּל מָנוֹהִי עֲבַד נְחָשָׁא׃
He made all the vessels of the altar, its pots, its scoops, its basins, its flesh-hooks, and its fire pans. He made all of its vessels out of copper.
- Exodus 38:4
וַיַּעַשׂ לַמִּזְבֵּחַ מִכְבָּר מַעֲשֵׂה רֶשֶׁת נְחֹשֶׁת תַּחַת כַּרְכֻּבּוֹ מִלְּמַטָּה עַד־חֶצְיוֹ׃
He made for the altar a grating of meshwork in copper, extending below, under its ledge, to its middle.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד לְמַדְבְּחָא סְרָדָא עוֹבָד מְצָדְתָא דִּנְחָשָׁא תְּחוֹת סוֹבֵיבֵיהּ מִלְּרַע עַד פַּלְגֵּיהּ׃
He made for the altar a grate of copper netting, under its rim extending downward, (so that the grate reached) to the middle of the altar.
- Exodus 38:5
וַיִּצֹק אַרְבַּע טַבָּעֹת בְּאַרְבַּע הַקְּצָוֺת לְמִכְבַּר הַנְּחֹשֶׁת בָּתִּים לַבַּדִּים׃
He cast four rings, at the four corners of the copper grating, as holders for the poles.
Targum Onkelos
וְאַתֵּיךְ אַרְבַּע עִזְקָן בְּאַרְבַּע זָוְיָתָא לִסְרָדָא דִּנְחָשָׁא אַתְרָא לַאֲרִיחַיָּא׃
He cast four rings on the four corners [sides]of the copper grating to house the poles.
- Exodus 38:6
וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת־הַבַּדִּים עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים וַיְצַף אֹתָם נְחֹשֶׁת׃
He made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with copper;
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד יָת אֲרִיחַיָּא דְּאָעֵי שִׁטִּין וַחֲפָא יָתְהוֹן נְחָשָׁא׃
He made the poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with copper.
- Exodus 38:7
וַיָּבֵא אֶת־הַבַּדִּים בַּטַּבָּעֹת עַל צַלְעֹת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ לָשֵׂאת אֹתוֹ בָּהֶם נְבוּב לֻחֹת עָשָׂה אֹתוֹ׃
and he inserted the poles into the rings on the side walls of the altar, to carry it by them. He made it hollow, of boards.
Targum Onkelos
וְאַעֵיל יָת אֲרִיחַיָּא בְּעִזְקָתָא עַל סִטְרֵי מַדְבְּחָא לְמִטַּל יָתֵיהּ בְּהוֹן חֲלִיל לוּחִין עֲבַד יָתֵיהּ׃
He placed the poles into the rings that were on the (two) sides of the altar to carry it with them. He made it a hollow structure constructed from boards.
- Exodus 38:8
וַיַּעַשׂ אֵת הַכִּיּוֹר נְחֹשֶׁת וְאֵת כַּנּוֹ נְחֹשֶׁת בְּמַרְאֹת הַצֹּבְאֹת אֲשֶׁר צָבְאוּ פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד׃
He made the laver of copper and its stand of copper, from the mirrors of the women who performed tasks at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד יָת כִּיּוֹרָא דִּנְחָשָׁא וְיָת בְּסִיסֵיהּ דִּנְחָשָׁא בְּמִחְזְיָת נְשַׁיָּא דְּאָתְיָן לְצַלָּאָה בִּתְרַע מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא׃
He made the basin out of copper and its base out of copper, from the mirrors of the women who had gathered [come to pray] at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
- Exodus 38:9
וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת־הֶחָצֵר לִפְאַת ׀ נֶגֶב תֵּימָנָה קַלְעֵי הֶחָצֵר שֵׁשׁ מׇשְׁזָר מֵאָה בָּאַמָּה׃
He made the enclosure: On the south side, a hundred cubits of hangings of fine twisted linen for the enclosure—
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲבַד יָת דָּרְתָא לְרוּחַ עֵיבַר דָּרוֹמָא סְרָדֵי דָּרְתָא דְּבוּץ שְׁזִיר מְאָה אַמִּין׃
He made the enclosure (for the mishkon). On the south side the curtains for the enclosure were made of fine, twined linen, one hundred amohs long.
- Exodus 38:10
עַמּוּדֵיהֶם עֶשְׂרִים וְאַדְנֵיהֶם עֶשְׂרִים נְחֹשֶׁת וָוֵי הָעַמּוּדִים וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶם כָּסֶף׃
with their twenty posts and their twenty sockets of copper, the hooks and bands of the posts being silver.
Targum Onkelos
עַמּוּדֵיהוֹן עֶשְׂרִין וְסָמְכֵיהוֹן עֶשְׂרִין דִּנְחָשָׁא וָוֵי עַמּוּדַיָּא וְכִבּוּשֵׁיהוֹן כְּסַף׃
It had twenty pillars and twenty copper sockets. The hooks and bands of the pillars were of silver.
- Exodus 38:11
וְלִפְאַת צָפוֹן מֵאָה בָאַמָּה עַמּוּדֵיהֶם עֶשְׂרִים וְאַדְנֵיהֶם עֶשְׂרִים נְחֹשֶׁת וָוֵי הָעַמּוּדִים וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶם כָּסֶף׃
On the north side, a hundred cubits—with their twenty posts and their twenty sockets of copper, the hooks and bands of the posts being silver.
Targum Onkelos
וּלְרוּחַ צִפּוּנָא מְאָה אַמִּין עַמּוּדֵיהוֹן עֶשְׂרִין וְסָמְכֵיהוֹן עֶשְׂרִין דִּנְחָשָׁא וָוֵי עַמּוּדַיָּא וְכִבּוּשֵׁיהוֹן כְּסַף׃
On the north side, (its length was) one hundred amohs. It had twenty pillars and twenty copper sockets. The hooks and bands of the pillars were of silver.

וְלִפְאַת־יָם קְלָעִים חֲמִשִּׁים בָּאַמָּה עַמּוּדֵיהֶם עֲשָׂרָה וְאַדְנֵיהֶם עֲשָׂרָה וָוֵי הָעַמֻּדִים וַחֲשׁוּקֵיהֶם כָּסֶף׃
On the west side, fifty cubits of hangings—with their ten posts and their ten sockets, the hooks and bands of the posts being silver.
Targum Onkelos
וּלְרוּחַ מַעְרָבָא סְרָדֵי חַמְשִׁין אַמִּין עַמּוּדֵיהוֹן עֶשְׂרָא וְסָמְכֵיהוֹן עֶשְׂרָא וָוֵי עַמּוּדַיָּא וְכִבּוּשֵׁיהוֹן כְּסַף׃
On the west side, the curtains were of fifty amohs. It had ten pillars and ten sockets. The hooks and bands of the pillars were of silver.

וְלִפְאַת קֵדְמָה מִזְרָחָה חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה׃
And on the front side, to the east, fifty cubits:
Targum Onkelos
וּלְרוּחַ קִדּוּמָא מַדְנְחָא חַמְשִׁין אַמִּין׃
(The width of the enclosure) on the east side was fifty amohs.
- Exodus 38:14
קְלָעִים חֲמֵשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵה אַמָּה אֶל־הַכָּתֵף עַמּוּדֵיהֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה וְאַדְנֵיהֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה׃
fifteen cubits of hangings on the one flank, with their three posts and their three sockets,
Targum Onkelos
סְרָדֵי חֲמֵישׁ עֶשְׂרָא אַמִּין לְעִבְרָא עַמּוּדֵיהוֹן תְּלָתָא וְסָמְכֵיהוֹן תְּלָתָא׃
Curtains fifteen amohs long were on one flank (of the entrance). They had three pillars and three sockets.
- Exodus 38:15
וְלַכָּתֵף הַשֵּׁנִית מִזֶּה וּמִזֶּה לְשַׁעַר הֶחָצֵר קְלָעִים חֲמֵשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה אַמָּה עַמֻּדֵיהֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה וְאַדְנֵיהֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה׃
and fifteen cubits of hangings on the other flank—on each side of the gate of the enclosure—with their three posts and their three sockets.
Targum Onkelos
וּלְעִבְרָא תִּנְיָנָא מִכָּא וּמִכָּא לִתְרַע דָּרְתָא סְרָדֵי חֲמֵישׁ עֶשְׂרָא אַמִּין עַמּוּדֵיהוֹן תְּלָתָא וְסָמְכֵיהוֹן תְּלָתָא׃
The other flank, on either side of the gate to the enclosure (there also were) curtains fifteen amohs long. They (too) had three pillars and three sockets.
- Exodus 38:16
כׇּל־קַלְעֵי הֶחָצֵר סָבִיב שֵׁשׁ מׇשְׁזָר׃
All the hangings around the enclosure were of fine twisted linen.
Targum Onkelos
כָּל סְרָדֵי דָּרְתָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר דְּבוּץ שְׁזִיר׃
All curtains around the enclosure were made of twined, fine linen.
- Exodus 38:17
וְהָאֲדָנִים לָעַמֻּדִים נְחֹשֶׁת וָוֵי הָעַמּוּדִים וַחֲשׁוּקֵיהֶם כֶּסֶף וְצִפּוּי רָאשֵׁיהֶם כָּסֶף וְהֵם מְחֻשָּׁקִים כֶּסֶף כֹּל עַמֻּדֵי הֶחָצֵר׃
The sockets for the posts were of copper, the hooks and bands of the posts were of silver, the overlay of their tops was of silver; all the posts of the enclosure were banded with silver.—
Targum Onkelos
וְסָמְכַיָּא לְעַמּוּדַיָּא דִּנְחָשָׁא וָוֵי עַמּוּדַיָּא וְכִבּוּשֵׁיהוֹן כְּסַף וְחִפּוּי רֵישֵׁיהוֹן כְּסַף וְאִנּוּן מְכוּבְּשִׁין כְּסַף כֹּל עַמּוּדֵי דָּרְתָא׃
The sockets for the pillars were of copper, the hooks and bands of the pillars were of silver, and the covering of their tops was of silver. All pillars of the enclosure had silver bands.
- Exodus 38:18
וּמָסַךְ שַׁעַר הֶחָצֵר מַעֲשֵׂה רֹקֵם תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי וְשֵׁשׁ מׇשְׁזָר וְעֶשְׂרִים אַמָּה אֹרֶךְ וְקוֹמָה בְרֹחַב חָמֵשׁ אַמּוֹת לְעֻמַּת קַלְעֵי הֶחָצֵר׃
The screen of the gate of the enclosure, done in embroidery, was of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and fine twisted linen. It was twenty cubits long. Its height—or width—was five cubits, like that of the hangings of the enclosure.
Targum Onkelos
וּפְרָסָא דִּתְרַע דָּרְתָא עוֹבָד צַיָּיר דְּתַכְלָא וְאַרְגְּוָנָא וּצְבַע זְהוֹרִי וּבוּץ שְׁזִיר וְעֶשְׂרִין אַמִּין אוּרְכָּא וְרוּמָא בְּפוּתְיָא חֲמֵישׁ אַמִּין לָקֳבֵיל סְרָדֵי דָּרְתָא׃
The screen at the entrance of the enclosure was the work of an embroiderer. It was made of greenish blue wool, dark red wool, crimson [colored] wool, and twined, fine linen. It was twenty amohs long and the height in the width was five amohs, corresponding to the curtains of the enclosure.
- Exodus 38:19
וְעַמֻּדֵיהֶם אַרְבָּעָה וְאַדְנֵיהֶם אַרְבָּעָה נְחֹשֶׁת וָוֵיהֶם כֶּסֶף וְצִפּוּי רָאשֵׁיהֶם וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶם כָּסֶף׃
The posts were four; their four sockets were of copper, their hooks of silver; and the overlay of their tops was of silver, as were also their bands.—
Targum Onkelos
וְעַמּוּדֵיהוֹן אַרְבְּעָא וְסָמְכֵיהוֹן אַרְבְּעָא דִּנְחָשָׁא וָוֵיהוֹן כְּסַף וְחִפּוּי רֵישֵׁיהוֹן וְכִבּוּשֵׁיהוֹן כְּסַף׃
(The screen) had four pillars and four copper sockets, silver hooks, and their tops and bands were overlaid with silver.
- Exodus 38:20
וְכׇל־הַיְתֵדֹת לַמִּשְׁכָּן וְלֶחָצֵר סָבִיב נְחֹשֶׁת׃
All the pegs of the Tabernacle and of the enclosure round about were of copper.
Targum Onkelos
וְכָל סִכַּיָּא לְמַשְׁכְּנָא וּלְדָרְתָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר דִּנְחָשָׁא׃
All the stakes of the mishkon and the surrounding enclosure were made of copper.
