- Exodus 30:1
וְעָשִׂיתָ מִזְבֵּחַ מִקְטַר קְטֹרֶת עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתוֹ׃
You shall make an altar for burning incense; make it of acacia wood.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד מַדְבְּחָא לְאַקְטָרָא עֲלוֹהִי קְטֹרֶת בּוּסְמִין דְּאָעֵי שִׁטִּין תַּעֲבֵיד יָתֵיהּ׃
You shall make an altar [upon which] to burn incense [spices]. Make it out of Acacia wood.
- Exodus 30:2
אַמָּה אׇרְכּוֹ וְאַמָּה רׇחְבּוֹ רָבוּעַ יִהְיֶה וְאַמָּתַיִם קֹמָתוֹ מִמֶּנּוּ קַרְנֹתָיו׃
It shall be a cubit long and a cubit wide—it shall be square—and two cubits high, its horns of one piece with it.
Targum Onkelos
אַמְּתָא אוּרְכֵּיהּ וְאַמְּתָא פוּתְיֵיהּ מְרוּבַּע יְהֵי וְתַרְתֵּין אַמִּין רוּמֵיהּ מִנֵּיהּ קַרְנוֹהִי׃
It shall be one amoh long and one amoh wide, it shall be a square, and two amohs high. Its horn-like elevations shall be of one piece with it.
- Exodus 30:3
וְצִפִּיתָ אֹתוֹ זָהָב טָהוֹר אֶת־גַּגּוֹ וְאֶת־קִירֹתָיו סָבִיב וְאֶת־קַרְנֹתָיו וְעָשִׂיתָ לּוֹ זֵר זָהָב סָבִיב׃
Overlay it with pure gold: its top, its sides round about, and its horns; and make a gold molding for it round about.
Targum Onkelos
וְתִחְפֵי יָתֵיהּ דְּהַב דְּכֵי יָת אִגָּרֵיהּ וְיָת כּוּתְלוֹהִי סְחוֹר סְחוֹר וְיָת קַרְנוֹהִי וְתַעֲבֵיד לֵיהּ זִיר דִּדְהַב סְחוֹר סְחוֹר׃
You shall overlay it with pure gold, on its top, its walls all around, and its horn-like elevations, and make a gold crown-like rim all around it.
- Exodus 30:4
וּשְׁתֵּי טַבְּעֹת זָהָב תַּעֲשֶׂה־לּוֹ ׀ מִתַּחַת לְזֵרוֹ עַל שְׁתֵּי צַלְעֹתָיו תַּעֲשֶׂה עַל־שְׁנֵי צִדָּיו וְהָיָה לְבָתִּים לְבַדִּים לָשֵׂאת אֹתוֹ בָּהֵמָּה׃
And make two gold rings for it under its molding; make them on its two side walls, on opposite sides. They shall serve as holders for poles with which to carry it.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַרְתֵּין עִזְקָן דִּדְהַב תַּעֲבֵיד לֵיהּ מִלְּרַע לְזֵירֵיהּ עַל תַּרְתֵּין זָוְיָתֵיהּ תַּעֲבֵיד עַל תְּרֵין סִטְרוֹהִי וִיהֵי לְאַתְרָא לַאֲרִיחַיָּא לְמִטַּל יָתֵיהּ בְּהוֹן׃
Make two gold rings for it under its crown-like rim, on two of its corners. Make them on its two opposite sides. They will house the poles with which it is carried.
- Exodus 30:5
וְעָשִׂיתָ אֶת־הַבַּדִּים עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים וְצִפִּיתָ אֹתָם זָהָב׃
Make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
Targum Onkelos
וְתַעֲבֵיד יָת אֲרִיחַיָּא דְּאָעֵי שִׁטִּין וְתִחְפֵי יָתְהוֹן דַּהְבָּא׃
Make the poles out of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
- Exodus 30:6
וְנָתַתָּה אֹתוֹ לִפְנֵי הַפָּרֹכֶת אֲשֶׁר עַל־אֲרֹן הָעֵדֻת לִפְנֵי הַכַּפֹּרֶת אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָעֵדֻת אֲשֶׁר אִוָּעֵד לְךָ שָׁמָּה׃
Place it in front of the curtain that is over the Ark of the Pact—in front of the cover that is over the Pact—where I will meet with you.
Targum Onkelos
וְתִתֵּין יָתֵיהּ קֳדָם פָּרוּכְתָּא דְּעַל אֲרוֹנָא דְּסָהֲדוּתָא קֳדָם כָּפוּרְתָּא דְּעַל סָהֲדוּתָא דַּאֲזָמֵין מֵימְרִי לָךְ תַּמָּן׃
Place it in front of the paroches that is by the Ark of the Testimony, in front of the covering that is on the Testimony where I will meet [prepare My Word] with you there.
- Exodus 30:7
וְהִקְטִיר עָלָיו אַהֲרֹן קְטֹרֶת סַמִּים בַּבֹּקֶר בַּבֹּקֶר בְּהֵיטִיבוֹ אֶת־הַנֵּרֹת יַקְטִירֶנָּה׃
On it Aaron shall burn aromatic incense: he shall burn it every morning when he tends the lamps,
Targum Onkelos
וְיַקְטַר עֲלוֹהִי אַהֲרֹן קְטֹרֶת בּוּסְמִין בִּצְפַר בִּצְפַר בְּאַתְקָנוּתֵיהּ יָת בּוֹצִינַיָּא יַקְטְרִנַּהּ׃
Aharon shall burn upon it incense of spices. Every morning when he cleans the lamps, he shall burn it.
- Exodus 30:8
וּבְהַעֲלֹת אַהֲרֹן אֶת־הַנֵּרֹת בֵּין הָעַרְבַּיִם יַקְטִירֶנָּה קְטֹרֶת תָּמִיד לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם׃
and Aaron shall burn it at twilight when he lights the lamps—a regular incense offering before GOD throughout the ages.
Targum Onkelos
וּבְאַדְלָקוּת אַהֲרֹן יָת בּוֹצִינַיָּא בֵּין שִׁמְשַׁיָּא יַקְטְרִנַּהּ קְטֹרֶת בּוּסְמִין תְּדִירָא קֳדָם יְיָ לְדָרֵיכוֹן׃
And when Aharon lights the lamps in the afternoon, he shall burn it. It is a continual incense [spice]-offering before Adonoy for you generations.
- Exodus 30:9
לֹא־תַעֲלוּ עָלָיו קְטֹרֶת זָרָה וְעֹלָה וּמִנְחָה וְנֵסֶךְ לֹא תִסְּכוּ עָלָיו׃
You shall not offer alien incense on it, or a burnt offering or a grain offering; neither shall you pour a libation on it.
Targum Onkelos
לָא תַסְּקוּן עֲלוֹהִי קְטֹרֶת בּוּסְמִין נוּכְרָאִין וַעֲלָתָא וּמִנְחָתָא וְנִסְכָּא לָא תְנַסְּכוּן עֲלוֹהִי׃
Do not bring upon it strange [unauthorized] incense [spices]; neither burnt-offerings nor meal-offerings. You shall not pour a libation-offering upon it.
- Exodus 30:10
וְכִפֶּר אַהֲרֹן עַל־קַרְנֹתָיו אַחַת בַּשָּׁנָה מִדַּם חַטַּאת הַכִּפֻּרִים אַחַת בַּשָּׁנָה יְכַפֵּר עָלָיו לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם קֹדֶשׁ־קׇדָשִׁים הוּא לַיהֹוָה׃
Once a year Aaron shall perform purification upon its horns with blood of the purgation offering of purification; purification shall be performed upon it once a year throughout the ages. It is most holy to GOD.
Targum Onkelos
וִיכַפַּר אַהֲרֹן עַל קַרְנָתֵיהּ חֲדָא בְּשַׁתָּא מִדַּם חַטַּאת כִּפּוּרַיָּא חֲדָא בְּשַׁתָּא יְכַפַּר עֲלוֹהִי לְדָרֵיכוֹן קֹדֶשׁ קוּדְשִׁין הוּא קֳדָם יְיָ׃
Aharon shall make atonement on its horn-like elevations once each year. With the blood of the sin-offering of atonement, he shall make atonement on it once each year for your generations. It is Holy of Holies to [before] Adonoy.
