- Deuteronomy 32:40
כִּי־אֶשָּׂא אֶל־שָׁמַיִם יָדִי וְאָמַרְתִּי חַי אָנֹכִי לְעֹלָם׃
Lo, I raise My hand to heaven And say: As I live forever,
Targum Onkelos
אֲרֵי אַתְקֵינִית בִּשְׁמַיָּא בֵּית שְׁכִינְתִי וַאֲמַרִית קַיָּם אֲנָא לְעָלְמִין׃
For I shall lift My hand heavenward [I have prepared the heavens a place for My Shechinah], and I shall say, ‘I live forever.’

אִם־שַׁנּוֹתִי בְּרַק חַרְבִּי וְתֹאחֵז בְּמִשְׁפָּט יָדִי אָשִׁיב נָקָם לְצָרָי וְלִמְשַׂנְאַי אֲשַׁלֵּם׃
When I whet My flashing blade And My hand lays hold on judgment, Vengeance will I wreak on My foes, Will I deal to those who reject Me.
Targum Onkelos
אִם עַל חַד תְּרֵין כְּחֵיזוּ בַרְקָא מִסּוֹף שְׁמַיָּא וְעַד סוֹף שְׁמַיָּא תִּתְגְּלֵי חַרְבִּי וְתִתַּקַּף בְּדִינָא יְדִי אֲתִיב פּוּרְעָנוּתָא לְשָׁנְאַי וּלְבַעֲלֵי דְּבָבַי אֲשַׁלֵּים׃
If I whet My saber to a gleam, and hold judgement in My grasp. I shall wreak vengeance on My foes and My spiters will I pay. [When My sword shall be revealed as a twofold lightning from one end of the heavens to the other, My hand will hold fast to judgment and I will visit calamity upon My enemies, and I will repay my adversaries.]

אַשְׁכִּיר חִצַּי מִדָּם וְחַרְבִּי תֹּאכַל בָּשָׂר מִדַּם חָלָל וְשִׁבְיָה מֵרֹאשׁ פַּרְעוֹת אוֹיֵב׃
I will make My arrows drunk with blood— As My sword devours flesh— Blood of the slain and the captive From the long-haired enemy chiefs.
Targum Onkelos
אֲרַוֵּי גִּרְרַי מִדְּמָא וְחַרְבִּי תְּקַטֵּיל בְּעַמְמַיָּא מִדַּם קְטִילִין וּשְׁבַן לְאַעְדָּאָה כִּתְרִין מֵרֵישׁ שָׂנְאָה וּבְעֵיל דְּבָבָא׃
I shall make My arrows drunk with blood and My saber shall consume flesh [kill among the nations]; for the blood of the slaughtered and the captives, for the original savagery of the enemy [to remove the crowns from the heads of enemies and adversaries].’’
- Deuteronomy 32:43
הַרְנִינוּ גוֹיִם עַמּוֹ כִּי דַם־עֲבָדָיו יִקּוֹם וְנָקָם יָשִׁיב לְצָרָיו וְכִפֶּר אַדְמָתוֹ עַמּוֹ׃
O nations, acclaim this people! For [God] will avenge the blood of these servants, Wreak vengeance on opponents, And cleanse this people’s land.
Targum Onkelos
שַׁבַּחוּ עַמְמַיָּא עַמֵּיהּ אֲרֵי פּוּרְעָנוּת עַבְדּוֹהִי צַדִּיקַיָּא יִתְפְּרַע וּפוּרְעָנוּתָא יָתִיב לְשָׂנְאוֹהִי וִיכַפַּר עַל אַרְעֵיהּ וְעַל עַמֵּיהּ׃
Let the nations extol His people for He shall avenge the blood [calamities] of His [just] servants and wreak vengeance [calamity] on His enemies and reconcile His land, His people.
