- Deuteronomy 32:19
וַיַּרְא יְהֹוָה וַיִּנְאָץ מִכַּעַס בָּנָיו וּבְנֹתָיו׃
GOD saw and was vexed And spurned these sons and daughters.
Targum Onkelos
וּגְלֵי קֳדָם יְיָ וּתְקֵיף רוּגְזֵיהּ מִדְּאַרְגִּיזוּ קֳדָמוֹהִי בְּנִין וּבְנָן׃
Adonoy saw and was angered, by the spite of His sons and His daughters. [It was apparent before Hashem, and His anger was kindled by the provocations of sons and daughters before Him.]
- Deuteronomy 32:20
וַיֹּאמֶר אַסְתִּירָה פָנַי מֵהֶם אֶרְאֶה מָה אַחֲרִיתָם כִּי דוֹר תַּהְפֻּכֹת הֵמָּה בָּנִים לֹא־אֵמֻן בָּם׃
[God] said: I will hide My countenance from them, And see how they fare in the end. For they are a treacherous breed, Children with no loyalty in them.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר אֲסַלֵּיק שְׁכִינְתִי מִנְּהוֹן גְּלֵי קֳדָמַי מָא יְהֵי בְּסוֹפְהוֹן אֲרֵי דָּרָא דְּאַשְׁנִי אִנּוּן בְּנַיָּא דְּלֵית בְּהוֹן הֵימָנוּ׃
He said, ‘‘I will hide [remove] My face [Shechinah] from them, I will see [it is revealed before Me] what their end will be; for they are an upsetting [deviated] generation, sons who are devoid of breeding [have no faith].

הֵם קִנְאוּנִי בְלֹא־אֵל כִּעֲסוּנִי בְּהַבְלֵיהֶם וַאֲנִי אַקְנִיאֵם בְּלֹא־עָם בְּגוֹי נָבָל אַכְעִיסֵם׃
They incensed Me with no-gods, Vexed Me with their futilities; I’ll incense them with a no-folk, Vex them with a nation of fools.
Targum Onkelos
אִנּוּן אַקְנִיאוּ קֳדָמַי בְּלָא דַּחְלָא אַרְגִּיזוּ קֳדָמַי בְּטָעֲוָתְהוֹן וַאֲנָא אַקְנֵינוּן בְּלָא עַם בְּעַמָּא טַפְשָׁא אַרְגֵּיזִנּוּן׃
They have incited [before] Me [without fear] to vengeance with a non-god—have spited [before] Me with their [serving] idols; and I will incite them with a non-people, I shall anger them with a faithless [foolish] nation.

כִּי־אֵשׁ קָדְחָה בְאַפִּי וַתִּיקַד עַד־שְׁאוֹל תַּחְתִּית וַתֹּאכַל אֶרֶץ וִיבֻלָהּ וַתְּלַהֵט מוֹסְדֵי הָרִים׃
For a fire has flared in My wrath And burned to the bottom of Sheol, Has consumed the earth and its increase, Eaten down to the base of the hills.
Targum Onkelos
אֲרֵי קִדּוּם תַּקִּיף כְּאִישָׁא נְפַק מִן קֳדָמַי בִּרְגַז שֵׁיצִי עַד שְׁאוֹל אַרְעָיְתָא אֲסִיף אַרְעָא וַעֲלַלְתַּהּ שֵׁיצִי עַד סְיָפֵי טוּרַיָּא׃
For a fire shall blaze in My anger, that will burn till the lowest grave; it shall consume the land and its produce, and enflame the bases of mountains. [For a wind as strong as fire has gone out from before Me in anger, which will destroy to the depths of the earth. It will annihilate the land and its produce, and destroy up to the edges of the mountains.]
- Deuteronomy 32:23
אַסְפֶּה עָלֵימוֹ רָעוֹת חִצַּי אֲכַלֶּה־בָּם׃
I will sweep misfortunes on them, Use up My arrows on them:
Targum Onkelos
אֲסִיף עֲלֵיהוֹן בִּישָׁן מַכְתָּשַׁי אֲשֵׁיצֵי בְהוֹן׃
I shall amass iniquity against them, I shall deplete my arrows [unleash My plagues] against them.
- Deuteronomy 32:24
מְזֵי רָעָב וּלְחֻמֵי רֶשֶׁף וְקֶטֶב מְרִירִי וְשֶׁן־בְּהֵמֹת אֲשַׁלַּח־בָּם עִם־חֲמַת זֹחֲלֵי עָפָר׃
Wasting famine, ravaging plague, Deadly pestilence, and fanged beasts Will I let loose against them, With venomous creepers in dust.
Targum Onkelos
נְפִיחֵי כְפַן וַאֲכִילֵי עוּף וּכְתִישֵׁי רוּחִין בִּישִׁין וְשֶׁן חַיַּת בָּרָא אֲגָרֵי בְּהוֹן עִם חֲמַת תַּנִּינַיָּא דְּזָחֲלִין בְּעַפְרָא׃
Bloated with hunger, and embattled with demons and slashed by Meriri [plagues caused by evil winds]; and the teeth of animals will I send against them along with the venom of [serpents that are] dust-crawlers.
- Deuteronomy 32:25
מִחוּץ תְּשַׁכֶּל־חֶרֶב וּמֵחֲדָרִים אֵימָה גַּם־בָּחוּר גַּם־בְּתוּלָה יוֹנֵק עִם־אִישׁ שֵׂיבָה׃
The sword shall deal death without, As shall the terror within, To youth and maiden alike, The suckling as well as the aged.
Targum Onkelos
מִבַּרָא תַּתְכֵּיל חַרְבָּא וּמִתַּוָּנַיָּא חַרְגַּת מוֹתָא אַף עוּלֵימֵיהוֹן אַף עוּלֵימָתְהוֹן יָנְקֵיהוֹן עִם סָבֵיהוֹן׃
From without, the sword shall decimate, and from within chambers, terror [the fear of death]; both lad and lass, suckling and aged man.

אָמַרְתִּי אַפְאֵיהֶם אַשְׁבִּיתָה מֵאֱנוֹשׁ זִכְרָם׃
I might have reduced them to naught, Made their memory cease among humankind,
Targum Onkelos
אֲמַרִית יְחוּל רוּגְזִי עֲלֵיהוֹן וַאֲשֵׁיצֵינוּן אֲבַטֵּיל מִן בְּנֵי אֲנָשָׁא דּוּכְרָנְהוֹן׃
I thought, ‘I shall abandon them,’ [My anger will fall upon them and I will destroy them], I would eliminate from mankind mention of them.

לוּלֵי כַּעַס אוֹיֵב אָגוּר פֶּן־יְנַכְּרוּ צָרֵימוֹ פֶּן־יֹאמְרוּ יָדֵנוּ רָמָה וְלֹא יְהֹוָה פָּעַל כׇּל־זֹאת׃
But for fear of the taunts of the foe, Their enemies who might misjudge And say, “Our own hand has prevailed; None of this was wrought by GOD!”
Targum Onkelos
אִלּוּ לָא פוֹן רוּגְזָא דְּשָׂנְאָה כְּנִישׁ דִּלְמָא יִתְרָרַב בְּעֵיל דְּבָבָא דִּלְמָא יֵימְרוּן יְדַנָא תְּקֵיפַת לַנָא וְלָא מִן קֳדָם יְיָ הֲוָת כָּל דָּא׃
Were it not for the enemy’s amassed rage, lest their oppressors estrange [plot]; lest they say, ‘Our armed might has prevailed, and not [from before] Adonoy has performed all this.’

כִּי־גוֹי אֹבַד עֵצוֹת הֵמָּה וְאֵין בָּהֶם תְּבוּנָה׃
For they are a folk void of sense, Lacking in all discernment.
Targum Onkelos
אֲרֵי עַם מְאַבְּדֵי עֵיצָה אִנּוּן וְלֵית בְּהוֹן סוּכְלְתָנוּ׃
For those nations squander counsel, they lack intelligence.
