- Numbers 10:11
וַיְהִי בַּשָּׁנָה הַשֵּׁנִית בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי בְּעֶשְׂרִים בַּחֹדֶשׁ נַעֲלָה הֶעָנָן מֵעַל מִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדֻת׃
In the second year, on the twentieth day of the second month, the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle of the Pact
Targum Onkelos
וַהֲוָה בְּשַׁתָּא תִּנְיֵיתָא בְּיַרְחָא תִּנְיָנָא בְּעֶשְׂרִין בְּיַרְחָא אִסְתַּלַּק עֲנָנָא מֵעִלָּוֵי מַשְׁכְּנָא דְּסָהֲדוּתָא׃
It was in the second year, in the second month on the twentieth of the month that the Cloud rose up from above the Mishkon of the Testimony.

וַיִּסְעוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמַסְעֵיהֶם מִמִּדְבַּר סִינָי וַיִּשְׁכֹּן הֶעָנָן בְּמִדְבַּר פָּארָן׃
and the Israelites set out on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai. The cloud came to rest in the wilderness of Paran.
Targum Onkelos
וּנְטַלוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמַטְּלָנֵיהוֹן מִמַּדְבְּרָא דְּסִינָי וּשְׁרָא עֲנָנָא בְּמַדְבְּרָא דְּפָארָן׃
Bnei Yisroel traveled along on their journeys, from the Sinai desert, and the Cloud came to rest in the desert of Paran.
- Numbers 10:13
וַיִּסְעוּ בָּרִאשֹׁנָה עַל־פִּי יְהֹוָה בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה׃
When the march was to begin, at GOD’s command through Moses,
Targum Onkelos
וּנְטַלוּ בְּקַדְמֵיתָא עַל מֵימְרָא דַּייָ בִּידָא דְּמֹשֶׁה׃
This was the first time that they traveled, on the order of Adonoy, through Moshe.
- Numbers 10:14
וַיִּסַּע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה בְנֵי־יְהוּדָה בָּרִאשֹׁנָה לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל־צְבָאוֹ נַחְשׁוֹן בֶּן־עַמִּינָדָב׃
the first standard to set out, troop by troop, was the division of Judah. In command of its troops was Nahshon son of Amminadab;
Targum Onkelos
וּנְטַל טֵיקַס מַשְׁרִית בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה בְּקַדְמֵיתָא לְחֵילֵיהוֹן וְעַל חֵילֵיהּ נַחְשׁוֹן בַּר עַמִּינָדָב׃
Then traveled the banner of the sons of Yehudah’s camp in the forefront according to their divisions; in charge of its divisions [was] Nachshon the son of Aminadav.

וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי יִשָּׂשכָר נְתַנְאֵל בֶּן־צוּעָר׃
in command of the tribal troop of Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי יִשָּׂשכָר נְתַנְאֵל בַּר צוּעָר׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Yissachar, [was] Nesanel the son of Tzu’ar.
- Numbers 10:16
וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי זְבוּלֻן אֱלִיאָב בֶּן־חֵלֹן׃
and in command of the tribal troop of Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon.
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי זְבוּלֻן אֱלִיאָב בַּר חֵלוֹן׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Zevulun, [was] Eliav the son of Cheilon.
- Numbers 10:17
וְהוּרַד הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְנָסְעוּ בְנֵי־גֵרְשׁוֹן וּבְנֵי מְרָרִי נֹשְׂאֵי הַמִּשְׁכָּן׃
Then the Tabernacle would be taken apart; and the Gershonites and the Merarites, who carried the Tabernacle, would set out.
Targum Onkelos
וּמִתְפָּרַק מַשְׁכְּנָא וְנָטְלִין בְּנֵי גֵּרְשׁוֹן וּבְנֵי מְרָרִי נָטְלֵי מַשְׁכְּנָא׃
[Then] the Mishkon was dismantled and the sons of Gershon traveled, with the sons of Merori, those who carried the Mishkon.
- Numbers 10:18
וְנָסַע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה רְאוּבֵן לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל־צְבָאוֹ אֱלִיצוּר בֶּן־שְׁדֵיאוּר׃
The next standard to set out, troop by troop, was the division of Reuben. In command of its troop was Elizur son of Shedeur;

וְנָטֵיל טֵיקַס מַשְׁרִית רְאוּבֵן לְחֵילֵיהוֹן וְעַל חֵילֵיהּ אֱלִיצוּר בַּר שְׁדֵיאוּר׃
[Then] the banner of Reuven’s camp traveled, according to their divisions. In charge of its division [was] Elitzur the son of Shdeiur.
- Numbers 10:19
וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן שְׁלֻמִיאֵל בֶּן־צוּרִישַׁדָּי׃
in command of the tribal troop of Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן שְׁלוּמִיאֵל בַּר צוּרִישַׁדָּי׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Shimon, [was] Shlumiel the son of Tzurishadai.
- Numbers 10:20
וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְנֵי־גָד אֶלְיָסָף בֶּן־דְּעוּאֵל׃
and in command of the tribal troop of Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel.
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי גָד אֶלְיָסָף בַּר דְּעוּאֵל׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Gad, [was] Elyasaf the son of De’uel.
- Numbers 10:21
וְנָסְעוּ הַקְּהָתִים נֹשְׂאֵי הַמִּקְדָּשׁ וְהֵקִימוּ אֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּן עַד־בֹּאָם׃
Then the Kohathites, who carried the sacred objects, would set out; and by the time they arrived, the Tabernacle would be set up again.
Targum Onkelos
וְנָטְלִין בְּנֵי קְהָת נָטְלֵי מַקְדְּשָׁא וּמְקִימִין יָת מַשְׁכְּנָא עַד מֵיתֵיהוֹן׃
[Then] the Kehos family traveled, the carriers of the sacred, and they erected the Mishkon by the time of their arrival.
- Numbers 10:22
וְנָסַע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה בְנֵי־אֶפְרַיִם לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל־צְבָאוֹ אֱלִישָׁמָע בֶּן־עַמִּיהוּד׃
The next standard to set out, troop by troop, was the division of Ephraim. In command of its troop was Elishama son of Ammihud;

וְנָטֵיל טֵיקַס מַשְׁרִית בְּנֵי אֶפְרַיִם לְחֵילֵיהוֹן וְעַל חֵילֵיהּ אֱלִישָׁמָע בַּר עַמִּיהוּד׃
[Then] the banner of the sons of Ephraim’s camp traveled according to their divisions. In charge of its division, [was] Elishamah the son of Amihud.

וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי מְנַשֶּׁה גַּמְלִיאֵל בֶּן־פְּדָהצוּר׃
in command of the tribal troop of Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי מְנַשֶּׁה גַּמְלִיאֵל בַּר פְּדָהצוּר׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Menashe, [was] Gamliel the son of Pedahtzur.
- Numbers 10:24
וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן אֲבִידָן בֶּן־גִּדְעוֹנִי׃
and in command of the tribal troop of Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni.
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי בִנְיָמִין אֲבִידָן בַּר גִּדְעוֹנִי׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Binyamin, [was] Avidan the son of Gid’oni.

וְנָסַע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה בְנֵי־דָן מְאַסֵּף לְכׇל־הַמַּחֲנֹת לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל־צְבָאוֹ אֲחִיעֶזֶר בֶּן־עַמִּישַׁדָּי׃
Then, as the rear guard of all the divisions, the standard of the division of Dan would set out, troop by troop. In command of its troop was Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

וְנָטֵיל טֵיקַס מַשְׁרִית בְּנֵי דָן מְכַנֵּישׁ לְכָל מַשְׁרְיָתָא לְחֵילֵיהוֹן וְעַל חֵילֵיהּ אֲחִיעֶזֶר בַּר עַמִּישַׁדָּי׃
[Then] the banner of the sons of Don’s camp traveled; the gatherer for all the camps, according to their divisions. In charge of its division, [was] Achiezer the son of Amishadai.

וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי אָשֵׁר פַּגְעִיאֵל בֶּן־עׇכְרָן׃
in command of the tribal troop of Asher, Pagiel son of Ochran;
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי אָשֵׁר פַּגְעִיאֵל בַּר עָכְרָן׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Asher, [was] Pagiel the son of Ochran.
- Numbers 10:27
וְעַל־צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי נַפְתָּלִי אֲחִירַע בֶּן־עֵינָן׃
and in command of the tribal troop of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.
Targum Onkelos
וְעַל חֵילָא דְּשִׁבְטָא דִּבְנֵי נַפְתָּלִי אֲחִירַע בַּר עֵינָן׃
In charge of the division of the tribe of the sons of Naftali, [was] Achirah the son of Einan.

אֵלֶּה מַסְעֵי בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לְצִבְאֹתָם וַיִּסָּעוּ׃
Such was the order of march of the Israelites, as they marched troop by troop.
Targum Onkelos
אִלֵּין מַטְּלָנֵי בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְחֵילֵיהוֹן וּנְטַלוּ׃
These are the journeys of Bnei Yisroel according to their divisions; and they journeyed.
- Numbers 10:29
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה לְחֹבָב בֶּן־רְעוּאֵל הַמִּדְיָנִי חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה נֹסְעִים ׀ אֲנַחְנוּ אֶל־הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר אָמַר יְהֹוָה אֹתוֹ אֶתֵּן לָכֶם לְכָה אִתָּנוּ וְהֵטַבְנוּ לָךְ כִּי־יְהֹוָה דִּבֶּר־טוֹב עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃
Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which GOD has said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will be generous with you; for GOD has promised to be generous to Israel.”
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר מֹשֶׁה לְחוֹבָב בַּר רְעוּאֵל מִדְיַנָאָה חֲמוּהִי דְּמֹשֶׁה נָטְלִין אֲנַחְנָא לְאַתְרָא דַּאֲמַר יְיָ יָתֵיהּ אֶתֵּין לְכוֹן אֵיתַא עִמַּנָא וְנוֹטֵיב לָךְ אֲרֵי יְיָ מַלֵּיל לְאֵיתָאָה טָבְתָא עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל׃
Moshe said to Chovav the son of Reuel, the Midianite, Moshe’s father-in-law: “We are journeying to the place about which Adonoy said; ‘I will give it to you’, come along with us and we will treat you well, for Adonoy spoke of bringing good [fortune] on Israel.”
- Numbers 10:30
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו לֹא אֵלֵךְ כִּי אִם־אֶל־אַרְצִי וְאֶל־מוֹלַדְתִּי אֵלֵךְ׃
“I will not go,” he replied to him, “but will return to my native land.”
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר לֵיהּ לָא אֵיזֵיל אֱלָהֵין לְאַרְעִי וּלְיַלָּדוּתִי אֵיזֵיל׃
He said to him “I will not go, but rather to my land and to my birthplace will I go.”
- Numbers 10:31
וַיֹּאמֶר אַל־נָא תַּעֲזֹב אֹתָנוּ כִּי ׀ עַל־כֵּן יָדַעְתָּ חֲנֹתֵנוּ בַּמִּדְבָּר וְהָיִיתָ לָּנוּ לְעֵינָיִם׃
He said, “Please do not leave us, inasmuch as you know where we should camp in the wilderness and can be our guide.
Targum Onkelos
וַאֲמַר לָא כְעַן תִּשְׁבּוֹק יָתַנָא אֲרֵי עַל כֵּן יְדַעְתָּא כַּד הֲוֵינָא שָׁרַן בְּמַדְבְּרָא וּגְבוּרָן דְּאִתְעֲבִידָא לַנָא חֲזֵיתָא בְּעֵינָךְ׃
He said to him “please do not forsake us, for, because you know of our encampment in the desert, and you will be our eyes [the great things that were done for us you saw with your eyes].
- Numbers 10:32
וְהָיָה כִּי־תֵלֵךְ עִמָּנוּ וְהָיָה ׀ הַטּוֹב הַהוּא אֲשֶׁר יֵיטִיב יְהֹוָה עִמָּנוּ וְהֵטַבְנוּ לָךְ׃
So if you come with us, we will extend to you the same bounty that GOD grants us.”
Targum Onkelos
וִיהֵי אֲרֵי תֵיזֵיל עִמַּנָא וִיהֵי טָבָא הַהוּא דְּיוֹטֵיב יְיָ עִמַּנָא וְנוֹטֵיב לָךְ׃
It will be, that when you go with us, it shall be that the very good which Adonoy will bestow on us we will bestow on (share with) you.
- Numbers 10:33
וַיִּסְעוּ מֵהַר יְהֹוָה דֶּרֶךְ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים וַאֲרוֹן בְּרִית־יְהֹוָה נֹסֵעַ לִפְנֵיהֶם דֶּרֶךְ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים לָתוּר לָהֶם מְנוּחָה׃
They marched from the mountain of GOD a distance of three days. The Ark of the Covenant of GOD traveled in front of them on that three days’ journey to seek out a resting place for them;
Targum Onkelos
וּנְטַלוּ מִטּוּרָא דְּאִתְגְּלִי עֲלוֹהִי יְקָרָא דַּייָ מַהְלַךְ תְּלָתָא יוֹמִין וַאֲרוֹן קְיָמָא דַּייָ נָטֵיל קֳדָמֵיהוֹן מַהְלַךְ תְּלָתָא יוֹמִין לְאַתְקָנָא לְהוֹן אֲתַר בֵּית מִשְׁרֵי׃
They traveled from the mountain of Adonoy [upon which the glory of Hashem was revealed] a journey of three days, and the Ark of the Covenant of Adonoy traveled in front of them a journey of three days, to prepare for them a place to settle.
- Numbers 10:34
וַעֲנַן יְהֹוָה עֲלֵיהֶם יוֹמָם בְּנׇסְעָם מִן־הַמַּחֲנֶה׃
and GOD’s cloud kept above them by day, as they moved on from camp.
Targum Onkelos
וַעֲנַן יְקָרָא דַּייָ מַטַּל עִלָּוֵיהוֹן בִּימָמָא בְּמִטַּלְהוֹן מִן מַשְׁרִיתָא׃
The Cloud [of the glory] of Adonoy was above them by day when they traveled from the camp.
