- Leviticus 18:22
וְאֶת־זָכָר לֹא תִשְׁכַּב מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה תּוֹעֵבָה הִוא׃
Do not lie with a male as one lies with a woman; it is an abhorrence.
Targum Onkelos
וְיָת דְּכוּרָא לָא תִשְׁכּוֹב מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִתָּא תּוֹעֵיבָא הִיא׃
You shall not lie with a male [conjugally] as one lies with a woman; it is an abomination.
- Leviticus 18:23
וּבְכׇל־בְּהֵמָה לֹא־תִתֵּן שְׁכׇבְתְּךָ לְטׇמְאָה־בָהּ וְאִשָּׁה לֹא־תַעֲמֹד לִפְנֵי בְהֵמָה לְרִבְעָהּ תֶּבֶל הוּא׃
Do not have carnal relations with any animal and defile yourself thereby. Likewise, a woman shall not lend herself to an animal to mate with it; it is perversion.
Targum Onkelos
וּבְכָל בְּעִירָא לָא תִתֵּין שְׁכוּבְתָּךְ לְאִסְתַּאָבָא בַהּ וְאִתְּתָא לָא תְקוּם קֳדָם בְּעִירָא לְמִשְׁלַט בַּהּ תָּבְלָא הוּא׃
Together with any animal you shall not lie [conjugally] to defile yourself with it. A woman shall not stand before an animal to copulate with it [control her]; it is defilement.
- Leviticus 18:24
אַל־תִּטַּמְּאוּ בְּכׇל־אֵלֶּה כִּי בְכׇל־אֵלֶּה נִטְמְאוּ הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִי מְשַׁלֵּחַ מִפְּנֵיכֶם׃
Do not defile yourselves in any of those ways, for it is by such that the nations that I am casting out before you defiled themselves.
Targum Onkelos
לָא תִסְתָּאֲבוּן בְּכָל אִלֵּין אֲרֵי בְכָל אִלֵּין אִסְתָאֲבוּ עַמְמַיָּא דַּאֲנָא מַגְלֵי מִן קֳדָמֵיכוֹן׃
Do not defile yourselves in any one of these [ways], for in all of these [ways] the nations have become defiled [those] that I am driving away [exiling] from before you.
- Leviticus 18:25
וַתִּטְמָא הָאָרֶץ וָאֶפְקֹד עֲוֺנָהּ עָלֶיהָ וַתָּקִא הָאָרֶץ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֶיהָ׃
Thus the land became defiled; and I called it to account for its iniquity, and the land spewed out its inhabitants.
Targum Onkelos
וְאִסְתָּאַבַת אַרְעָא וְאַסְעַרִית חוֹבַהּ עֲלַהּ וְרוֹקֵינַת אַרְעָא יָת יָתְבַהָא׃
The land became defiled and I judged its iniquities upon it and the land expelled its inhabitants.
- Leviticus 18:26
וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם אַתֶּם אֶת־חֻקֹּתַי וְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַי וְלֹא תַעֲשׂוּ מִכֹּל הַתּוֹעֵבֹת הָאֵלֶּה הָאֶזְרָח וְהַגֵּר הַגָּר בְּתוֹכְכֶם׃
But you must keep My laws and My rules, and you must not do any of those abhorrent things, neither the citizen nor the stranger who resides among you;
Targum Onkelos
וְתִטְּרוּן אַתּוּן יָת קְיָמַי וְיָת דִּינַי וְלָא תַעְבְּדוּן מִכֹּל תּוֹעֵיבָתָא הָאִלֵּין יַצִּיבַיָּא וְגִיּוֹרַיָּא דְּיִתְגַּיְּרוּן בֵּינֵיכוֹן׃
You shall adhere to My statutes and to My laws and not do any of these abominations [both] the native born [settled one] and the proselyte who resides [converts] among you.
- Leviticus 18:27
כִּי אֶת־כׇּל־הַתּוֹעֵבֹת הָאֵל עָשׂוּ אַנְשֵׁי־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר לִפְנֵיכֶם וַתִּטְמָא הָאָרֶץ׃
for all those abhorrent things were done by the people who were in the land before you, and the land became defiled.
Targum Onkelos
אֲרֵי יָת כָּל תּוֹעֵיבָתָא הָאִלֵּין עֲבַדוּ אֱנָשֵׁי אַרְעָא דִּקְדָמֵיכוֹן וְאִסְתָּאַבַת אַרְעָא׃
For all of these abominations were done by the people of the land who came before you and the land became defiled.
- Leviticus 18:28
וְלֹא־תָקִיא הָאָרֶץ אֶתְכֶם בְּטַמַּאֲכֶם אֹתָהּ כַּאֲשֶׁר קָאָה אֶת־הַגּוֹי אֲשֶׁר לִפְנֵיכֶם׃
So let not the land spew you out for defiling it, as it spewed out the nation that came before you.
Targum Onkelos
וְלָא תְרוֹקֵין אַרְעָא יָתְכוֹן בְּסַאוֹבֵיכוֹן יָתַהּ כְּמָא דְּרוֹקֵינַת יָת עַמְמַיָּא דִּקְדָמֵיכוֹן׃
[So that] the land not expel you when you defile it as it expelled the nation [nations] before you.
- Leviticus 18:29
כִּי כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה מִכֹּל הַתּוֹעֵבֹת הָאֵלֶּה וְנִכְרְתוּ הַנְּפָשׁוֹת הָעֹשֹׂת מִקֶּרֶב עַמָּם׃
All who do any of those abhorrent things—such persons shall be cut off from among their people.
Targum Onkelos
אֲרֵי כָל דְּיַעֲבֵיד מִכֹּל תּוֹעֵיבָתָא הָאִלֵּין וְיִשְׁתֵּיצוֹן נַפְשָׁתָא דְּיַעְבְּדָן מִגּוֹ עַמְּהוֹן׃
For anyone who will do any of these abominations, their souls shall be cut off, those who do these things, from among their people.
- Leviticus 18:30
וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם אֶת־מִשְׁמַרְתִּי לְבִלְתִּי עֲשׂוֹת מֵחֻקּוֹת הַתּוֹעֵבֹת אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשׂוּ לִפְנֵיכֶם וְלֹא תִטַּמְּאוּ בָּהֶם אֲנִי יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃
You shall keep My charge not to engage in any of the abhorrent practices that were carried on before you, and you shall not defile yourselves through them: I the ETERNAL am your God.
Targum Onkelos
וְתִטְּרוּן יָת מַטְּרַת מֵימְרִי בְּדִיל דְּלָא לְמֶעֱבַד מִנִּמּוֹסֵי תּוֹעֵיבָתָא דְּאִתְעֲבִידָא קֳדָמֵיכוֹן וְלָא תִסְתָּאֲבוּן בְּהוֹן אֲנָא יְיָ אֱלָהֲכוֹן׃
You shall keep my watch [the watch of My Word] that you shall not do any of the abominable customs that were done before you and you will not defile yourselves through them. I am Adonoy, your God.
