Have you ever had something go completely wrong and wondered, “Why is this happening to me?”
Yosef went through incredible hardships. His brothers threw him into a pit, he was sold into slavery, and eventually he was imprisoned in Egypt. Yet through all of this, Yosef never lost his faith in G-d.
After years in prison, Yosef was brought before Pharaoh to interpret his dreams. This was his chance to finally become free. Pharaoh asked Yosef if he could interpret dreams, and Yosef immediately answered, “It is not me; G-d will give Pharaoh an answer.” Even when mentioning G-d could have put his opportunity at risk, Yosef never took credit for himself.
Yosef teaches us that faith isn't only about trusting G-d when everything is going well. It is about recognizing that there is a bigger plan even when we don't understand what is happening.
Sometimes we can't see the reason for what happens, but we can still trust that there is a reason.
